There was a fire alarm at 6am which meant evacuation but we had challenges throughout. Our own dilemma, two people who have recently had invasive surgery for cancer. On stairwell both journeys people struggling with physical mobility problems and no support offered. Lifts out of action. No point in going back to bed at 7am so had to take half day off work following day to recover. Hotel likes emails but when it comes to empathy and communications on the day, it was severely lacking.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the evacuation difficult and appreciate that it was a disruptive start to the day. Following a review of the incident, we can confirm that no member of our team was made aware during the evacuation that additional assistance was required. Had we been informed, our staff would have done their best to provide appropriate support. The safety of our guests is always our priority, and in the event of a fire alarm, an immediate evacuation of the building is required for everyone’s safety. We appreciate your comments and will continue to review our procedures and communication following any such incident. ibis Team

The room was not cleaned properly and i had a dirty towel in my room when i got there which made me doubt the cleanliness of the whole place, not to mention fire alarm

We arrived and asked straightaway if we could have a room on the first (or second) floor. This was granted, our room was on the second floor. Staff were happy to store our luggage on departure day, nothing was any trouble. Would recommend highly.

Although l like staying here for the closeness of the hotel to the station ,l feel that the hotel now needs some TLC such as carpet cleaning, marks on walls and dents in doors etc . We paid quite a bit of money for the two nights and l feel the standard was not equal to this . When we have stayed before it was classed as a budget hotel and the price reflected this . I think if you are going to charge the higher price ,your hotel needs money spent on it . I’m sorry to write this but it needs to be said
