Before I you details of my experience. I made a booking through a third party & unfortunately input dates which then changed. I was lately refused by the hotel to change my dates !! I then had to rebook for last weekend and have now paid for 2 weekend stays for 3 adults one of which I will not be using. Quite frankly I feel the hotel staff could have accommodated me. They just refused to honour my change. I feel my weekend stay was not a gd experience - we had a sofa bed in the room which was only half made up I had to ask twice for pillows (why because they were waiting for a pillow case delivery) why did I have to ask twice? and again for toilet roll the following day. It was not replenished on sat am. The receptionist looked in a cupboard for more - did he actually expect me to walk through the hotel with toilet roll this is a housekeeping function. The housekeeping staff did not clean the room on sat am - the coffee cups were unwashed, toilet roll not replenished towels left on the floor. Papers left on the top where the coffee cups sit. At breakfast we had to wait 15 mins for croissants - only one coffee machine working v long q !!!! The door to the bedrooms on floor 1 was not secured and was accessible to the public not by the room card key only !!

Excellent stay. Rooms clean and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Dinner was really good food and choice but very delayed. We waited an hour for our main course which was disappointing.

While it was a lovely touch to have our room upgraded for our wedding anniversary unfortunately the room we were given backed on to the lift shafts which were very noisy all night. Breakfast during our first morning was cold. The second morning was better.
