Came in for work and find most what I need. It’s convenient and between the store, the Bean theory coffee and the train station, it’s great. The one thing they need to get squared away is the breakfast situation. They added it to my bill, but then they couldn’t find me on the list- nothing more embarrassing than being hunted down to be told you didn’t pay for your breakfast after having added it upon check in.

The hotel and staff were lovely, really comfortable rooms, really good breakfast and the pool facilities were excellent. Didn't give full marks because I had booked a room for 1 adult and 2 children, we arrived at 8.30pm and the extra bed had not been made up, we notified reception and after almost an hour I had to request again that the bed be prepared, and then had to follow up a further time, it was 9.30 before someone came. When housekeeping arrived they were really helpful but it was very frustrating not to have a bed available (especially given check in is from 3pm and a room should be ready by then!).

Novotel North is very close to Cambridge North railway station with plenty of bus services nearby. The standard of the hotel is very high and the staff were excellent. I enjoyed the pool facilities, one reason I had specifically chosen to book here. What marred the stay, however, was my last day. I had booked the late checkout option and paid an extra £40 (I think) to stay until late afternoon. On the morning of my last day, I made a point of checking at reception so that no error was made before I went out. I was told that my room keys were set to expire at noon and issued with a new set. These were to be valid until four pm. I came back after lunch, went up to my room and the keys were dead. Back to reception. they had expired at two. A third set of keys was issued, with the receptionist wondering if my late checkout was until two or three...? No, it was four pm. Then the cleaner was knocking on my door at a quarter to three, so I had to state again that I had the room until four. By the time I left, I found what looked like a stockade of cleaners' trolleys bordering my door in the corridor. If the system is failing so badly to note correctly a service which is paid for, then the service should not be on offer or the system should be made competent. As I said, the reception staff were very charming, but they should not have had to issue multiple sets of keys or had the guest, in this case me, parading up and down when confronted with a locked door. The extra £40 charge was poor value when weighted against such irritation.

This was pour ninth stay at this hotel, and as usual all the staff we met were friendly and professional, the room was well prepared, and the restaurant food at dinner and at breakfast was exactly what we wanted.

Hotel is based at Cambridge North train station, parking next to hotel and rail station. Hotel is of a high standard and the breakfast is fantastic.

First time stay here .My son is in a wheelchair so we used the accesable room .Very clean and quiet .No trains heard at all during the night at all . The staff were super lovely. Will definitely be back 😊
