shame that the water machine in the gym wasn't working and there was no provision of water at the pool/sauna area. Would have liked to use the jacuzzi but still not working!

A good hotel, only issues were poor aircon and a slow cheek in. Neither bought up during the stay too be fair and the slow cheek in probably seemed longer because we had 2 young children with us. The check in staff were very friendly but were not rushed in the slightest despite the queue. The swimming pool is good but you need to ask for a separate key card for it. The parking is quite expensive and belongs to the train station rather than the hotel but this information was well advertised in advance and is typical for Cambridge.

The overall experience was very pleasant for a bank holiday weekend. The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are pristine. The staff at the reception is very helpful. The location is very convenient and if you have a car it's close to Cambridge. Also accessible via train, the train station being right there at the doorstep! However, there were a few incidents that made our stay less pleasant than usual in hotels of the same chain: - Breakfast: the breakfast manager was a bit pushy in the second morning when asking for the table back at 11.20, when clearly there had been a queue to have breakfast. - Room: we had an executive room but no water was provided on a daily basis as normal - Pool: too many kids splashing about unsupervised, no member of staff to enforce rules around diving and jumping, with kids literally jumping in the water while others were swimming. One mother was seen drinking alcohol while her kids were being unruly in the pool. On a second occasion, reception staff gave us access to the pool and towels as expected, but did not tell us it was under maintenance (without also knowing until when). This is meant to be a 'wellness' pool and we are there to have a restful time. - Clientele: some rude clients at breakfast trying to educate us about what 'bread is' when we asked for baguettes - they pointed out that toast was there three times. Including the rude mother at the pool who came to tell us off for telling her kids 'no diving is allowed' and to be more careful. - Parking: this is very conveniently at the side of the hotel, although it should be either subsidised for hotel customers or provided for free as a perk.

Couple of picky details about our room (441) - the reservoir for the coffee machine leaks if you leave water in it, and the backsplash behind it badly needs a lick of paint. Great trip overall though.
