My experience at the Novotel Stansted was extremely disappointing, particularly as a female travelling alone. When I arrived, there were no available car parking spaces. I called the hotel and was told that parking was on a first-come, first-served basis and that I could park in the rear area. I explained that I was travelling alone and did not feel safe parking there, especially as the area was poorly lit. Unfortunately, I felt that my concerns were simply dismissed, with little consideration or effort to offer a suitable alternative. Once I arrived at the hotel, I spoke to Mo, who had been the person I spoke to on the phone. I explained that I wanted to raise my concerns with a manager once I was settled in my room, as I felt this was an issue that could affect other guests too. I had specifically requested a quiet room, but was initially allocated one next to a staff storage cupboard, with staff repeatedly going in and out. This was far from the peaceful stay I had requested and meant I had to ask to be moved to another room. The manager, Mia, did arrange a room change and told me she would raise my complaint. However, I have heard nothing further, which is disappointing and leaves me feeling that my concerns have not been properly addressed. On top of everything else, the aircraft noise was very loud, making it difficult to enjoy a comfortable and restful stay. Overall, I expected a much better standard of care and customer service from Novotel. I understand that parking availability cannot always be guaranteed and that an airport hotel will inevitably experience some aircraft noise. However, what disappointed me most was the lack of reassurance and support when I raised legitimate safety concerns, followed by the inconvenience of being given a room that did not meet my request for a quiet stay. As a woman travelling alone, feeling safe and being listened to should be basic expectations. Although Mia did help with the room change, the lack of follow-up on my complaint has left a poor final impression. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously, particularly regarding guest safety, room allocation and communication with guests who raise concerns. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I was left feeling let down by the service provided.

Disappointed, we have stayed quiet a few times this time we were left disappointed. We checked in at 3am as we had a late flight when we got to our room there was stains on the carpet, cigarette marks in the chair. There was marks on the table and black mould in the shower and tiles falling off in the bathroom. We did raise these concerns in the morning with a member of staff when checking out and got told I would be contacted regarding this but didn’t.

We stayed here as a family for one night as we had a flight the following day. The hotel served its purpose as a convenient overnight stay, but unfortunately, it felt quite dated and run-down overall. The rooms are extremely small, with very limited space to move around, particularly when there is more than one person staying in the room. It was adequate for a short stay, but the hotel would definitely benefit from some refurbishment and updating.

Reception are always happy & helpful whatever to show up which I personally like and probably one of the main reasons I stay with the parking it’s so handy & easy, however it is now showing signs in some rooms of being well used but I’ll still use it.

Going on holiday with 15 day parking we have used this Hotel many times and just love it . Dinner in the dining room and breafast the next day was faultless. The bus service to and from the airport is also excellent. Cannot fault the Novatel sets you up for a great start when going on holiday.
