I was disappointed with our overall experience at Mercure Paris Levallois, particularly given its four-star rating. Communication was a significant issue. All correspondence we received from the hotel was in French, without an English translation, yet the request for feedback was sent in English. I also emailed the hotel twice before our stay to let them know we were celebrating a special occasion (once in English and a second time in French), but unfortunately neither email received a response. We were aware of the city tax, however the disproportional large deposit/payment taken on arrival was also not communicated to us in advance, which was unexpected and would have been helpful to know beforehand. There were also a few basic details in the room that I felt fell short of what I would expect from a four-star hotel. The “mini bar” was essentially a cupboard containing just one bottle of water, despite there being two guests. On arrival, there were two small pots of milk for the breakfast tea, one of which had already been used/was empty. Unfortunately, these were not replenished during our stay. The safe was also not secured to the floor or wall. On the positive side, the room was clean and the slippers provided were a lovely touch. I appreciate that other guests have had very positive experiences, and perhaps our stay was simply an exception. However, for us, the combination of poor communication and the lack of some basic refreshments and amenities meant that the experience did not feel like what we would expect from a four-star hotel. Overall, I wouldn’t rate our stay as a four-star experience.

As for the financial formalities, the city tax is a legal requirement set by the local authorities based on the hotel's category. This information, along with the deposit policy, is transparently available on our website. We have also taken note of your comments regarding the room amenities. In our standard rooms, we provide one complimentary bottle of water, while our Deluxe rooms feature a full minibar. However, our reception team is available 24/7 to provide additional refreshments upon request. Finally, the issue with the welcome tray and the unreplenished milk is not up to our standards. We have immediately reported this to our Executive Housekeeper to strengthen our quality control procedures. Good location,, Staff was very helpful, courteous and supportive. However, some of the amenities mentioned in the booking voucher were missing. For instance, room allocated to me did not have mini bar/fridge which I needed for storing medicines. However, the staff was helpful and on my request stored the medicine in the fridge in kitchen and also put a mini fridge in the room next day which I appreciate. However, other minor things like body moisturizer etc. which was shown in the image on hotel site was not there in the bathroom - however, I was carrying my own, so wasn't a problem but what I am broadly trying to highlight is that there were some minor discrepancies with what is shown on your website vs actual. The staff was great, so I won't mind staying here again in the future
