Regarding the Mercure Paris Arc de Triomphe Wagram hotel, we liked the facilities and location. It could have been a very satisfactory experience, however, something very unpleasant happened during our stay. In the early morning of May 15th, around 2 am, the fire alarm went off. We woke up very scared by a deafening noise. We went down to the reception in inappropriate clothes, considering we had no idea of the level of emergency. The receptionist only told us that there was no fire and that we could return to the room. We returned to the room, my wife, who is pregnant, was very scared. We had difficulty falling back asleep after the incident, which compromised our next day of sightseeing in the city. We received no explanation of what happened, nor any apology. I did not expect this type of experience at an Accor hotel.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to write a review after your stay at Mercure Arc de Triomphe Wagram. We apologize that the fire alarm rang during the night, but unfortunately this is out of our control as it tourned out that somebody was smoking inside the room. That's why alarms are made for. This incident can of course happen anywhere (no matter the hotel chain) at anytime and for security reasons it is important that the alarm works, even if we understand it's unpleasent. We hope to welcome you back for your next trip to Paris! Best regards, Marianna Cavalcanti - Deputy Manager

As a frequent guest of Novotel, Ibis, and Mercure hotels—including a wonderful stay at the Mercure Arc de Triomphe Étoile in 2025—this particular hotel was a massive letdown. My ten-hour stay was a complete nightmare from start to finish. The experience began at reception with a cold, unwelcoming check-in from an employee who seemed completely untrained. Upon entering the room in 5th floor, I was shocked by the layout. It felt more like a pit than a hotel room; due to a heavily slanted structural beam, I literally had to duck my head just to move around the bed. Mainly I didn't see even a small bottle of drinking water in the room. No accessories provided in the room. Things only got worse when I returned from dinner at 1:15 a.m. to find the main door locked. Despite modern hotels usually having key-card access, I was forced to ring the bell for over ten minutes with no response. I only managed to get inside after looking up the hotel’s phone number and calling directly, after which the same receptionist opened the door with an angry look out of deep sleep and zero apology. The final straw came at 4:00 a.m. when the fire alarm blasted through the building. Panicked guests from all the floors evacuated into the street in their pajamas, where we stood waiting for over thirty minutes. The receptionist was left entirely on his own trying to disable and reset the system. When the sound finally stopped, everyone went back upstairs without any official explanation. When asked for details, the staff member, only the receptionist had no idea what happened and merely guessed that someone might have been smoking. This level of service is totally unacceptable. I got absolutely no sleep after the alarm and left exhausted at 7:00 a.m. This disaster has severely shaken my trust in the brand, and I will be looking into other hotel groups for my future business trips. Avoid this place.
