Stayed at this hotel as it was near the Port Rashid and reviews claimed it had a large room. Hotel facilities are good (Shuttle buses, good location, near bus stops, convenience store). Staff could be more efficient. It was a lengthy process to check-in and check-out. I stayed at this property pre and post cruise. Pre-cruise, I booked an additional night before to ensure I would get a room as I had arrived early. I was then told that post cruise this wouldn't be necessary as the peak period would have settled. Therefore post cruise, I came and I sat for about 2-3 hours at the lobby waiting for my rooms to be ready. I was gradually given rooms in batches. As a platinum member, I think it could have been handled better. Check out experience was also very lengthy. it took soooo long just to check if I had consumed the minibar. I guess having been used to the efficiency of Southeast Asian Accor hotels, the expectation has to be slightly lowered when staying in the Middle East.

On our first day after settling our luggage and things my husband seat on a sofa relaxing after a long day of travel. feels cold and wet, finds out there's liquid stuff on the sofa don't know what it is? he smelled it & he said it was awful and hurried take off his pants and undies and took a quick shower. I called the desk to complain to have the sofa replace a staff came by to check and came back after awhile bringing white line to cover it. You expect us to use it knowing you don't know what's in it?? We did not use it on the duration of our stay.

Lovely clean and friendly hotel. Our porter Safa( hope I have spelt it correctly) was extremely polite and helpful. The staff made us breakfast at 4am as we had a early departure flight. The hotel is situated in the perfect spot to access all areas of Dubai.

Nice hotel and extremly nice staff! Always smilling - very helpfull. The breakfast was also very good - e.g. fresh fruit and good omelet every morning. A bit nousy at night because of the discoteque. And they were short of towels - often we had to ask for clean towels. All in all a VERY nice stay - would definitely stay at Mercure Gold Hotel again!!! Thank you for a great stay!

Loved the rooms, check in was a bit confusing, the lady who helped me seemed new and not very understanding. Cleaning service was okay, they forgot to add toilet rolls. Was nice that water and coffee were complimentary and topped up every day.

We stayed there for 1 week with our family and almost had not a single night with silence sleep. Your disco at 1 floor has too high music ! Your hotel really need maintenance as the drains in showers are tight, the doors need maintenance and the carpet in rooms was awful. I think that you have not washed the carpet sine you opened the hotel !

There was a lack of toiletries in the room. There are few days when I had to call and asked for the same which was sometimes a bit annoying like, I had to ask for towels, slippers, shower cap and etc.

the rooms wasn't very clean and the glass that were use weren't wash and they just put without cleaning it and we find insects in room we call it Russian insects hope you will fix for other guests and the noise of the music was to much but other staff like they work in reception and they in restaurant was good

Enjoyed our time at the hotel immensely . The ammenities were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed a lot of patience dealing with our family with very young kids running around. Special mention to Aditi, she was helping us in the restaurant during pretty much every meal, she was very helpful and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. Pleasant stay in a superb location. Staff is very kind and helpfull. Hotel is very nice and clean. One critical note: the shower is for midgets. Never ever seen such a small shower. It was in the junior suite. Maybe other rooms have better shower? The bathtub is too close to the toilet. You can not sit comfortable. The guy who designed this, what was he thinking?

Repeat stay with lot of expectations, sad to say will never return again

Hi, I booked 5 nights again with your hotel from 22dec to 27 dec.. since my previous stay for 4 nights in Jan 2019 and was largely smooth, and the front office manager James took care of us and didnt have any untoward experience or Ill feelings.. This time we made a complaint on day 2 of our stay against bad experience with housekeeping person - Harish who was rude and misbehaved with my wife and spoke at high pitch and was arrogant. He stated that even if we stay for a year in the hotel, the rule is one service per day. He unnecessarily argued and didnt clear the plates on table and dared us to complaint against him and even threw the garbage bag under the table and left furiously leaving us shocked. I immediately went down to complaint against this behavior to two of your staffers at reception within 5 mins.. Mr.salman and Mr.Mina, both of them were nice and assured me action would be taken against him. And on christmas day, the housekeeping supervisor came to room to distribute chocolates for Christmas and we repeated the complaint again. Our troubles were far from over, everytime we would call someone from housekeeping they would not turn up on single call, or on one of the days we found room was not cleaned at all.. and the housekeeping guy said we are supposed to press clean my room switch or else they wouldn't come in.. we did that and yet service was very slow, and on last day before check out my wife and daughter were in the room till 1 pm, so I personally walked up to the Housekeeping staff near the lifts and requested to clean the room since we had no plans to go out.. but no one came in, even to replace water or clear the garbage. My wife had to stay in the room in same condition. I had tipped one Bangladeshi houskeeeping and another Filipino guy assuming service would get better, and the same fillipino guy didnt come on the last day and commented on my face that checkout is today ??, inspite of me walking up and requesting him twice. I had gone out to Etihad museum and only came back to realise no one cleaned the room or replaced sugar or water.. I had clearly told him we wanted basic cleaning only not a full clean up , as we would anyway check out in few hours.. yet this fell on deaf ears. To top it all off, the staff - Ms.Sapna at 6 pm was waiting for me and demanded 600 aed for room damages which they reduced to 200 aed after the sofa was clean and only a small spot remained on carpet which too I refused., since lack service and our poor stay experience had overwhelmed me. I had checked out at 2 pm and gone to the mall since I had time before my flight which was at 11 pm. The housekeeping staff was trying to take revenge on us since I had complained against Harish few days back, and didnt even try to clean the sofa.. when i asked them to do it infront of me, the sofa got cleaned up completely.. then for another spot on the carpet also got lighter after cleaning, but the housekeeping didnt attend to this in the 5 days stay.. since this happened on first day of our stay, the housekeeping was so so bad that the room and carper started to smell towards end of our stay and I didnt want to request room change, since immediately on check in we asked to change room as that one had a connecting door and I was not too comfortable with that .. my reason for stay again at Mercure was my pleasant experience in Jan when James was good, and housekeeping issues were not there. This time the lapses were quite very very evident.. the housekeeping guy, Harish is a psycho didnt seem to fit into the hospitality industry. Kindly observe this person by replicating our situation, and see how he responds to your other guests.. I am very sure, his behavior is similar and you may be losing clients due to rude behavior. On the last day, your management staff tell me that they were not aware of this, inspite of we complaining against our poor experience 3-4 times, I even told Mr.Mina at 2 pm before exiting the room that we had a bad stay with Mercure. I even told Sapna to call Mina or Salman or General Manager during this argument at 6 pm they didnt call anyone and give me the phone. Soon after I came home yesterday.. I sent a email to Mercure asking for a call back from your General manager for a call back, to give my feedback personally. I got a reply that he is on leave and not available. I am still waiting for a call from your management till this moment... Always had a preference for Accor hotels across the world, but after this .. I will have to think hard since the staff response and quality was simply Disastrous. I wonder why our complaints were not escalated and 3-4 times is not a matter to pass by, pls ask Housekeeping supervisor, Mr.Salman and Mr.Mina as they were all aware of issues during our stay and the housekeeping not even trying to clean the sofa and implicate us, was really sad and left an indelible impression on Mercure Al Mina. I am still hoping to revieve a call back so I can explain in detail what went wrong during our stay..

There was some dirt under the bed. Also, it was nearly impossible to sleep with all that loud music thumping all night. On the other hand, the service was good. The lady at reception was amazing, very helpful and always had a smile. The cleaner named Harees was really helpful as well and very prompt/ quick. They both made us feel like valued guests and that made the negatives feel a little less upsetting.
