Disappointing

We usually stay in Ibis hotels, but in this time besides the quietness, given the fact it is in the middle of nowhere not difficult. The rest was a complete disappointment: the third bed in our room was not made, there was no liquid soap in the shower and the breakfast was extremely poor.

Is not about expectations, but we would be happy with the basics. Toilet and bathroom were smelly, the room didn’t seem cleaned prior arrival ( towels and toilet paper missing in the room, desk and chair dusty and lots of hair around ) We definitely had better experiences in others Ibis Budget ( Australia & Netherlands )

Not well-kept as expected

The hotel is well located but it was not kept in a good condition. Birds nests were outside of all the windows and bird droppings littered the outside of the window. Inside, some fittings in the bathroom were coming apart and there was no WiFi - there was just a note with an apology. Not a good experience when one is travelling the whole day...

Convenient location (supermarket, restaurants and more). Few toilet paper for 2 days (you have to ask for more), small breakfast. But, plenty of employees who wait.

One coffee machne is not enough!

Everything is good except - like most Ibis Budgets - there is only one coffee machine. Result - constant queueing at breakfast time! In this case at Givet the machine broke down for around 15 minutes and there was no alternative. Bring back the good old coffee jug!

Rooms Need to be cleaned better and updated soon!!! There were spiderwebs the whole week and no new toilet paper. The ceiling had a huge tear in it. Breakfast was great for the Price! We used the Hotel as a base, for sleaping it was ok!

book the room one day before i was travel to Givet from Rotterdam, i book directly using the ibis website, I drove from Rotterdam to Givet, have a quick stop at Brussel. Reached Ibis Budget Givet around 9pm, before check in decided to have a dinner at Mc Donald in front of the hotel, then ready to check in,the self check in machine is not in operations and out of staffed hour, but suddenly came one guy staff there said the hotel is full. I said i already make a reservation, and i supposed to stay here tonight without any problem. The staff explained that the hotel is full and the signpost in front of the hotel that show room available at 59 euro is faulty. that staff really not show any hospitality and concern regarding the problem and situation. I traveled with a baby, and wife, from Rotterdam, and I booked a room one night earlier, but the room not available when I am ready to check in. I returned to my car and check online the nearest hotel availability for that evening, it getting dark and raining heavily. I was shock that there still room available at the ibis budget Givet for that night, not sure what the problem. The other nearest hotel is in Luxembourg, which is 1 hour 30 minutes drive from where i was at that time. make another reservation at Ibis Budget Luxembourg airport and start drove there in heavy rain and crying baby inside that car. I make several stop at services along the route because I am too tired at that moment and accidentally spend the whole night inside the car in one service a long the route. We woke up by lorry's horn at 7 am at decided to have our face wash in the toilet inside the petrol station there. I check my email and my account, was shock both hotel Givet and Luxembourg already charge my account for both rooms, even sent me emails to give review for both rooms. Do not book ibis hotel if you do not want to be left stranded next to the highway.

The IBIS at Givet is relatively new compared with other IBIS's I have stayed at and this was reflected in the state of the decoration in both the room and hotel reception areas. The duty manager was also very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

this hotel was a recently opened(circa 2013)memeber of the bugdet chain and it shows it everywhere was very clean and fresh the only change over other ibis bugdet hotels is the toilet is seperate from the shower other than that its the same which is a basic room for the night with friendly staff which is exactly what we like no pretentious front desk staff or over priced crappy restaurant simple and pretty reasonable pricing would we stay here again most certainly

We arrived at the hotel on a hot Sunday afternoon. The hotel is quite a way out of Givet, much further than we expected. Once we realised it was actually in Givet, it made it easier to find. In fact, it is rather difficult to miss when you know where it is because it has absolutely nothing around it. The building is a new one. I'm guessing that Accor are hoping other shops, restaurants etc are built around it over time. It certainly needs it. Hopefully a Courtepaille or similar will appear soon so that you dont have to trek into town of an evening unless you really want to. We were given room 228 which was the furthest possible form the entrance. It seemed rather bizarre seeing as the hotel was completely empty. Not a single car, person anywhere to be seen. Unfortunately the room did not have any hot water or wifi. Luckily for us, the evening receptionist had just turned up and we we moved to another room with no fuss. Our new room also had a small problem...flies. Hundreds of dead flies all over the place. It transpires that the room are sprayed with (very effective!) fly killer when they are cleaned. Our new room hadnt been used for six days and our dead companions were the results of the chemical holocaust. Again, the staff were pleasant and sorted out the issue with no fuss. Breakfast was the usual Ibis Budget offering. nothing special but it does the job. On the whole the hotel has good promise and I hope things build up around it to make it a worthwhile stop over. I realise some people will be happy to trek into Givet and back out again but if you are passing through and arrive at 21:00 in the evening, I would sooner have some sort of dining facilities nearby. McDonalds and the vending machine pasta offering do not count as real food.

The staff was very friendly and ready to help. The whole complex has been built very recently, which explains why the room was so new and modern (touch panels for the lights, LEDs...). I'll surely sleep there again the next time I'm around the area. :)

Very good value for money. Rooms clean and basic but perfect for exploring the local area. Room for one child in bunk bed which worked great. Plenty of parking and walking distance to aquapark. Recommend
