We were well advised at reception, and managed to avoid parking fees (parking is free 18…).

Had a pleasant one night stay, 10 minute walk into Dinant and lovely balcony overlooking the river with good views and chilled local beer.

We have recently stayed for 5 nights at the Ibis in Dinant. The hotel is right on the river with great views, get a room on the first floor with a view. Good breakfast, very pleasant terrace , great place to sit with a cold drink. Staff friendly and helpful. Not far from the train station if you want to venture to Namur for a day. Trains are a delight compared to the UK. Plenty of interesting walks from the hotel a favourite is up the hill to the citadel, or the river bank walk from the two locks (about 6 miles). Of course plenty of boat trips, take the 2 hour one which is much better value and more interesting.
