We had an amazing stay! First the lovely lady at reception who checked us in deserves a shout out sadly I didn't ask for her name, but she was so so lovely! The room was huge and very clean, with the most comfortable bed and I personally loved that we had a bathtub, which is not that common in hotels anymore. Sadly. The area is quiet and if you do not have a car it might be a bit inconvenient but the hotel has free parking and the area is great for a walk. Breakfast was brilliant! Again, the breakfast lady was very sweet and helpful! The fruit bar was my favourite and I couldn't get enough of the hot chocolate :-) I would absolutely come again in a heartbeat!

Have stayed on many occasions over many years. Facilities closed (have been for a while) all areas and rooms becoming dilapidated , breakfast on Saturday was an absolute disgrace nothing available lots of guests no organisation ( we checked out immediately and went and ate somewhere else.

Dedicated staffs with excellent hospitality. All their staff are kind and helpful. Spacious car park is a plus. I would like to mention Jumain, Clara, and Jula from the front office for their services and customer service. Additionally, Lidia, the breakfast staff, needs a special mention. We were a bit late for breakfast on the second day due to our confusion about the timing on weekends and weekdays. When we reached for breakfast, everything was closed. Seeing our disappointment, Lidia was so kind to take extra efforts and prepare breakfast for us. Really appreciate the service.

On my second evening decided to eat in your lounge, sat in there for one hour and was completely ignored so walked out. Upon returning to my room decided to try the room service of soup and sandwich as advertised in the room. Once through to the kitchen was told the information was out of date and there was no food available.....end result I had no food that night. The radiators in the room constantly clicking even when not on. Saturday night there was a wedding function, in my corridor games were taking place with the children, in the early hours of Sunday morning and it was a guy making g all the noise.....total disregard for other paying clients.

Stayed here while visiting family and what can I say I expected more from a Mercure. There was damp and peeling paint in the bathroom, the shower tools ages to get hot and then made a pool of water over the fall. The rooms needed tlc marks on the walls, a musty smell in the room. The bed was not comfortable nor the pillows to be fair I should have stayed in a premier inn would have had better nights sleep and the rooms in better condition. Some money needs to be spent in this hotel. Breakfast there was 1 person on was never greeted, anyone could have walked in and had breakfast without paying. The first morning there was plenty of clean tables and food was hotel. Coffee was awful though would expect better for the price paid for breakfast. On the Sunday morning hardly any clean tables and 1 member of staff just moping around not really doing anything. Was never approached by a member of staff this morning either! For what we paid I expected more and I’ve stayed in Mecure hotels in the past and had been a lot better quality. I will say this is my last time staying there!

We stayed at your hotel last September for 4 nights with our dog and never had a problem, but this time we did not have a satisfactory stay. Last year our dog was allowed to accompany us in the breakfast area just inside the restaurant even the staff came over and complimented us on how well behaved she was, even petting her. There was also another dog in there. This time however we sat in the same place and ordered our breakfast which was advertised as buffet breakfast but it was not. Whilst I was getting beverages for my wife and myself my wife was told to leave the area, l came back to an upset wife and a woman telling us dogs had never been allowed in this area we were told to leave and I refused as our breakfast was due. There are no signs restricting dogs anywhere in the hotel, in fact you claim to be pet friendly. We intend to complain to your head office in writing. My wife wanted to leave the hotel immediately and go elsewhere but I managed to calm her down as we were visiting her seriously ill brother in chorley hospital. Don't send me your usual bog standard reply as I have seen them on other reviews

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review, We do provide a separate area for guests with dogs located near to the restaurant. We do change to a plated breakfast when numbers in house are lower, this is due to the breakfast being cooked to order rather than having a buffet sitting and losing temperature. The team did try to liaise with you whilst in the dining area and advise it was assistance dogs only. We have reinstated the signage as a visual for guests with dogs at the hotel. I am sorry if this caused some confusion during your stay on this occasion.

Bedroom was lovely with sofa and lots of extras, tea and coffee facilities, boxes of tissues, fan, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries. Breakfast in the restaurant was really good, take away cups available for hot drinks, beautiful selection of fruit, yoghurt and granola as well as pastries, hot selection and cereals. Evening meal was in the bar, people vaping inside without staff asking to go outside even though they were sat opposite the open door where people were smoking. No staff to give any instructions on if we sat anywhere or to provide menus. One menu between 10 tables and no clear guideline on the two course meal included in our booking and had to ask twice to find out what we could order. Glass of prossecco was included in deal that we did not get. No staff to take order, when we finally ordered it took 25 mins to get 1 starter, another 20 mins before someone asked if we were ready for mains, a further 30 mins for main to arrive. The lasagne is clearly a microwave meal of slop which they forgot the chips, the hunters chicken was nice however the centre of the chicken was cold yet the chips were piping hot ( very good chips but surely chicken should be hotter than chips??) Another 40 minutes before the plates were taken and asked if we were ready for dessert. Cheesecake with blueberry compote was ordered but came with mixed frozen berries and chocolate sauce???? By this time we were so fed up with the poor service and no staff to query the errors in meals that we gave up and left. If we had to pay for this meal at the time rather than pre paid with room there is no way we would have payed full price for this meal.

Room was a good size and clean but the windows were terrible, they let in so much noise that I had to check if they were actually just open. As a result me and my husband both had an awful sleep due to noise from the road outside. Breakfast again was fine, nothing special but not bad. Staff were nice!
