The University of Bolton Stadium, home to the Bolton Wanderers is just 1.5 miles away.

The staff are helpful but the facilities are poor. Generally overpriced for what you get.

The check in was fast and easy and the staff were really helpful with getting our breakfast sorted out. There was a wonderful 90s disco on that I went to join in the evening after the receptionist said it's open to everyone but felt a little like I wasn't welcome (got a lot of staring and confused looks) maybe since I wasn't decked out in 90s gear like everyone else or maybe other reasons, who knows! Got one good dance in though and had drinks elsewhere with my partner. The room was incredibly hot when we first arrived in it. Took all night to cool down after opening the window. Sleep was a bit uncomfortable with the heat and the disco sounds in the distance with the open window. Shower water pressure wasn't good. Breakfast was lovely lots of options including vegan/vegetarian alternatives. Convenient and lovely location.

We found it a bit tricky to find as the postcode takes you to a housing estate. Think another Mercure sign is needed near the wall that’s shows no entry to the car park as it’s one way. Once we checked in all the staff were very friendly. We had a twin room and views over the car park and field/hills. The room was 655. It could do with an upgrade of a new bathroom suite but we managed. We had evening meal in the bar area, I had a good range of choice but my friend who is Vegan had a limited choice. We had booked the hotel as we went to an 80s v 90s event which was great. Had a fun game of bingo and floor fillers music and a great dj. Breakfast the next morning had an excellent choice for everyone. I would definitely return. I booked a groupon offer that included evening meal, Prosecco and breakfast.

Hotel is good. Thought the room could do with modernising. Gym was decent enough. Bar/restaurant was the highlight. Food spot on. Staff lovely.
