We were made to feel very welcome in the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, our room comfortable and characterful and the food generally of good quality. We particularly appreciated the swimming pool and made full use of it.

What I like most about this hotel is the staff who were unfailingly kind and helpful - special shout out to Sheila, Kim and Ben who did a great job of looking after us. It is a little tired in places but it is clean and comfortable and good value for money.

The whole hotel team are A1! Greetings to Irene, Kim on the bar. Unfortunately, the other names I did not catch. Not sure if the lack of uniform is a new concept? However, the remainder leaves more than a lot to be desired. Although the hotel rooms are clean, they really need a massive cash injection. In fact, the whole hotel does. The breakfast room is probably as loveless as it gets. The bar area is ok, however some comfy seating would not go amiss. The showers need anti-slip rubber mats (provided when requested). The shower tap was very difficult to turn on and the pressure was sub-par. The key card system is also so antiquated that proximity contact to a mobile phone wiped the data causing us to return to reception on NUMEROUS occasions (daily) to reprogram the cards, which was a huge inconvenience. The outside space is a disgrace. I understand that it is winter and leaves are flying around everywhere, however the wood palette and bin bag filled with litter next to the car park and the road to the car park are quite disgraceful. I think the management ought to take a look outside the building now and again to see what the first and last impressions really surmount too. It is not good a good reflection of what a hotel should extrude. The exterior of the back of the old Georgian house and the roof above the C&B facilities should also be looked at, as well as your waste management space. The pool and the changing facilities (I did not use the gym) follow on from the above. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos, which is perhaps a good thing. The changing room and the sauna in the male changing room are, to be frank, disgusting. Not sure if you sublet this space but the broken cabinets, body hair and general lack of hygiene in such spaces is unforgivable. The net above the pool to capture the rust falling from the girders is commendable but not addressing the issue at large. Missing ceramic tiles on the pool's edge is also a risk, especially as there were so many children there. Finally, to finish on a positive note, as I said, the team was very helpful and accommodating, and the food was good and well-presented and dealt well with one of our partys' dietary needs. So thank you.

A lovely hotel with v good facilities and clean rooms but was made it so special was the lovely staff who were all so welcoming. In particular Irene running the bar the night we were there. Very professional . Very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay there extra special. I will certainly be going back. Thank you
