The stay was excellent. A very large and well decorated room that was spotless. The food was delicious for dinner, with a lovely bacon roll for breakfast. Nice seating areas outside, which is obviously important under lockdown. But the thing that sets the hotel apart from the rest is the staff. They are friendly and welcoming as soon as you arrive. It is a real family feel and I had a great nights sleep too!

I have stayed at Mercure Georgian Hotel Bolton many times. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and sealed after deep cleaning. Staff are very helpful and polite. In room dining is enjoyable, albeit with a very limited menu that has not changed in many weeks, probably down to Coronavirus restrictions. The hotel and staff are com0liant with Coronavirus precautions as are guests. Overall an excellent experience.

In need of serious TLC

The one thing about this hotel is the staff who are always friendly and engaging,rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately the rooms let it down, of course the hotel has been in lockdown for most of the past year so I would have thought that would have been an excellent time to sort out repairs. My booking had 2 rooms and between these 2 rooms I found issues with a badly cracked sink,broken bath panels,broken bathroom tiles and a chair that had no padding and was badly stained from previous guests,double glazed windows with blown seals The furniture within the rooms are dated and worn. Dining and bar service was outside or via room service,but given we ate outside the hotel didn't bother with putting heaters or pods on the patio "as there would be no point,as we go back to normal next month" meaning people can eat Inside..I hate to say it we are in unprecedented uncertain times and this is the new normal ..the hotel is clearly not prepared

I stayed overnight as I had a business brief's over two days. the rooms for the brief's were very good with all our needs catered for. The room which I stayed however was not as impressive. The room was very dated and very dusty, with very visible signs of quick repairs all around the room and bath room area.

The stay was ok and very different because of the circumstances - had the room service once and that was very nice - breakfast was a little disappointing and very over priced for what it was.

I was staying over several weeks for work purposes. Staff are very helpful and professional. Covid precautions compliance was very good throughout the Hotel. Room was very clean with tea/coffee facilities, tv, etc. In room dining was useful option although menu is very limited and not changed (probably due to low guest numbers and economics). Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Staying at a hotel at present is a bit like staying in a prison. One of the main differences is that you lock yourself in rather than the jailor. This is the reason for the 7 rating because there were no facilities which is not the fault of the hotel. However the staff did their utmost to ensure that I had as enjoyable a stay considering the current situation.

- I could not sleep in the evening, 3 staff members were chatting and we could pretty much hear the conversation. - shower in the room was awful - I had booked one more night but cancelled, had to do it at reception as online system would not allow.

Tired and dated hotel

The rooms are straight out of 1993 with thin walls, shabby dark wardrobes and brown bathrooms. Bed is firm, fairly comfy. Room was red hot even with radiator off and window open in mid October. No hot breakfast due to COVID, “continental breakfast” provided instead devoid of any moisture or flavour. Didn’t get one second morning of my 2 night stay. Staff friendly and reception looks nice.

I had booked with yourselves using a voucher from Groupon. Which included 1 night stay with cocktails, breakfast, spa access and two treatments for myself and my friend who are keyworkers and were excited to be able to relax and enjoy a weekend before having to go back to a ward. However this is not the experience I received. I had emailed earlier on in the same week of my stay and was not informed that Bolton had gone back in to local lockdown. This meant that the restaurant and bar inside the hotel was closed. The spa was closed. We did not receive our cocktail and could only order room service food which were exorbitant prices, this meant that food was ordered from a local takeaway again which is not what was wanted. Breakfast was then a "continental" breakfast which again is not really what was expected. I understand that there is a pandemic and changes have been made to ensure safety, however having everything closed and not be informed and be offered a change in dates so that what I had paid for could be fulfilled would have been more appropriate however no information was given until arrival which was a two hour drive. I am aware that it was a Groupon deal and as such not the full price of a normal stay and so will not be as important as your full price paying guests. However to pay for a relaxing fun weekend to be basically isolated in the hotel room is something that I could have achieved at home and would have been more enjoyable. Very disappointed in the lack of communication from your hotel management

Upon entering the hotel lobby there was hand sanitizer available, plastic screens at the desk and all staff were wearing masks. I had received an email before my visit explaining the security options that had been put in place to reduce any risks.

Very disappointed with quality of hotel and poor customer service

Disappointing The hotel is certainly very tired. There are several cracked window panes, visible from both entrance of car park and the main corridor down to the bedrooms. Every time we went to reception we had to wait for some-one to appear at the desk, on a couple of occasions this was several minutes. Whilst we appreciate some changes had possibly taken place due to COVID-19 this should still not have any effect on professionalism of the staff. Having previously visited the hotel many times over years we only see a big deteriation in the quality overall
