Not my favourite ibis hotel

We stayed at this Accor hotel during our recent UK visit. During our week stay, we stayed at numerous Accor branded hotels. This property was our least favourite. The front desk staff were friendly, however, not well supported. Everytime we walked past the reception area there was always a queue and the staff did their best despite the long queues. Our room was the standard ibis room which was fine, however, the mattress was old and sinking in the middle, very uncomfortable. The hotel location is good and easily walkable to the city centre. Future stays will not be at this same property.

We had quite a wait to check in as there was a large queue in reception with only 1 person checking people in. She was also having to serve people at the bar at the same time, which made the process even longer. She was also feeling very ill so did well on her own! Bed was very comfortable and great shower! Good amenities around the hotel, 24 hour shop, pubs etc.

You can do better for the money.

For the price per night, you can find better. MUCH BETTER. I paid about 150quid for a room with black mould, a toilet door that wasn't hung properly and wouldn't close fully, marked bedsheets, and a panel in the toilet hanging off the wall. The TV had Chromecast but it was unplugged and just hanging against the wall. The cleaning staff must be short-staffed because there was half a tin of Vaseline in our room from a previous guest and cobwebs on the light fittings. Its only redeeming feature is how close you are to the city centre.
