I arrived at 8.46 pm after specifically choosing hotels with restaurants only to find the restaurant was closed early due to an issue. I was told it would have closed at 9pm anyway. After speaking to the duty manager I was offered a jacket potato and beans that would be sent to my room. On entering my room I found that my card would not activate the electricity. I called reception and a replacement card was entered and the lights came on, during which time my food had arrived. It was apparent after the person who delivered the new card had left that there was still an issue with the electricity as none of the sockets or TV were working. Another all and I was told I would be given another room. By the time this happened my food had gone cold, so I had to get it reheated. All of this took the best part of, an hour. I wast charged for the food or the glass of wine that I subsequently requested and I cannot fault the staff or the quality of of the hotel, it just made for a very disappointing experience

Really enjoyed our stay I came with my 13 year old daughter so she could have some relaxing time. She loved the pool breakfast was amazing only thing that drove me mad was the noise at night like a fan sound

Effortless check in and check out. Excellent parking area. Very hearty breakfast The room was very well furnished and very clean, only problem is that the window could not be opened if you wanted fresh air

Nearly had a heart attack

The room and hotel were lovely however we didn’t expect that the hairdryer would blow up whilst my wife was drying her hair. The wire completely blew off the hair dryer and my wife had to throw it across the room- huge sparks and a bang. This caused every socket to blow, then causing us to have to move rooms... making us late for dinner reservations. We immediately checked the plug which was still in the wall, detached from the dryer, and no pat test sticker was shown on the dryer anywhere. The manager we dealt with was accommodating and lovely but this didn’t change the fact that this was an extremely dangerous situation and a large inconvenience.

Room was nice and clean although we only had a couple of towels which wasn’t ideal between the two of us. We were also able to hear everything going on in the next room which continued well into the early hours of the morning.

A much nicer hotel than usually booked for accessing Whiston Hospital. Although when retiring to our room at 22:30 to find we had party goers n the room next door, staff were more than happy to relocate us especially with the Drive back south the next morning. Really good Breakfast options. We were not there long enough to use the health facilities.

I stayed a couple of night at the Mercure St Helens. I used the pool facilities and gym during my stay. I enjoyed my stay ther and will definitely be using the hotel again.

Nice room , comfortable , gym and fitness suite well received. We tried to have dinner , but due to a wedding, the staff informed us of a 45 minute wait as only 1 chef was available , so we chose to eat out in St Helens.

Overall good stay. Lovely helpful staff. My only comment is that it was very dark as I sat on the chair by the round table. Would be better to have lighting close to it.

Nice staff, good breakfast and the restaurant is good. The gym is also well equiped. Regarding the rooms, it was OK for me: comfortable and well insulated. It seems, however, that the quality of the room (specifiquely the bathroom) can variate as some of my colleagues had a les modern one.

Lovely stay, very nice staff 😌 I went with my partner and my 2 year old daughter. They provided a travel cot for my daughter and the room was still spacious. The bed was super comfy and I wish my stay was longer, the use of the swimming pool and gym was also included in the price which is amazing 😌

Friendly and professional staff.easy access to Liverpool yet way lower prices. The only problem was with the breakfast on Sunday morning when there were many guests and the hot breakfast options were not kept topped up leading to people having to wait.

Whilst the room was clean, my first nights stay was dreadful because of noise from ventilation machinery positioned on the roof. It was creating a continual 'thrumming' noise that seemed to vibrate through the walls of the room. Unfortunately the only free room in the hotel was a suite on the top floor and the noise was far worse in there. It was a very unpleasant stay. Thankfully the staff were able to move me the next morning and the room was then fine. I enquired on check out if I was still to be charged for the room and was told yes. A manager was going to call me to discuss this, but I am yet to receive that call.

We as a family of 4 two adults and two children booked a suite, it stated online the room was suitable for this. However on arrival this was not the case. There was only one king size bed. A sofa that was not a sofa bed, and for additional beds for our 12 and 9 year old we had to pay £20.00 each when we were already paying £190.00. Obviously we only had one as I was not paying an additional 40.00 when originally booking the room it stated it was fitting for 4 people. So feel it was inappropriate and frustrating. Other than that staff were fantastic and super friendly nothing was too much trouble.
