The room was clean and the breakfast had lots of options. The only thing I was disappointed with is that I moved a couple of bags to my car on the morning of my checkout. I had to step over a vacuum cleaner hose & pipe when I opened my door as the cleaner was in the corridor. When I came back the cleaner had opened my door and my black coat was on the bed along with my handbag & another bag with the cleaner no where in site! I was gobsmacked as someone could of easily walked past and pinched my handbag, money or cards in my handbag. I informed the Manager when I checked out and she was apologetic and said that this would go to the General Manager. I'm just glad that I hadn't gone for breakfast and the room wasn't left open for a longer period of time! Just to confirm that the cleaner had left the door open when I hadn't checked out & it was obvious that I hadn't done this as my personal things were still in the room.

Dear Gail N., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Manchester West We investigated this on the day you reported it, the door lock records that are held electronically each time anyone uses the key card, shows only you entering that morning. Housekeeping can be seen entering in the afternoon. The doors do not have closers on, so I suspect that the door didn't shut automatically as you might have expected it to. We also checked the catch and lock to make sure they were working properly, which they were. In any case, I offer you our apologies, and assure you that our team did not open or leave the door open. As part of our refurbishment all bedroom doors will have self closers installed with the new doors and locks. Check in was great. However, I was in room 125, room was clean but the mattress on the bed was solid, it had no give making it very uncomfortable. I found I was too hot under the quilt but too cold if I took it off.

Bed wasn’t made up for my son when I arrived, no plug sockets next to the bed. The staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was nice. The rooms seem a bit dated though (the walls)

Ideally situated just off the motorway , this hotel is welcoming ,clean . The staff are courteous and friendly , the room was clean and tidy , the breakfast area was well equipped with a great variety of hot and cold food, this is the 2nd time my husband and I have stayed here and will definitely stay again.

Overall very good. However once past the lobby and restaurant the rooms are showing signs of tiredness, particularly the carpets. The menu is rather limited and room service options limited. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Very impressed.

Good position near motorway, nice clean room. Bed too hard for older person like us!. Why do they put lights in stupid positions, so much so that it is impossible to read either in bed or sitting on sofa.bedside lights are below head level so useless when sitting in bed.

We ate there on the Saturday evening and the food was wonderful. My partner had a small piece of what looked like Tom from a can opener. This was reported and an apology came easily with a free pudding. The person serving was very polite and helpful ( didn’t get his name )
