We stayed for two nights at this hotel on the outskirts of Manchester at Worsley. It has a car park which is free to hotel guests. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night. Very enjoyable - haddock and chips for me and steak for my husband. Breakfast self service including tea and coffee and toast. A good range of food. The toast is a bit of a problem with people queuing for the toasters. Second morning breakfast was not so good but adequate. They seemed to be short staffed and there was a bus tour in. Difficulty was with replenishing food - very slow. There is a bus into Manchester from across the road but you are taking your life in your hands doing so. If you want to go on the bus to Manchester I would suggest getting a taxi to Worsley Court House about half a mile away and getting the bus from there. Coming back is ok as you are on the correct side of the road. The hotel is very convenient to the RHS gardens at Bridgewater but you need to be careful with the directions so that you don’t end up back on the M62 rather than a three minute drive.

Just so you know, the local council have (this morning) started to install a pedestrian crossing on the main road, so the most difficult part of the short walk to the bus stop, will in future be OK, they say 3 weeks to finish it. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful, I am elderly and had not experienced modern systems before. I had two guests join me for dinner and the meal was very good and the staff again pleasant. I found getting into the bath for the shower a little difficult as the sides were high but the room over all was comfortable. I would stay again. I tried to book on line but had difficulty and resorted to the phone.

Booked two rooms. One for me and my daughter, the other for my son and his girlfriend. Two night stay. We checked in Sunday as Monday morning was the funeral of my children’s Grandma. We ordered breakfast as room service. My son’s breakfast did not arrive. The kitchen confirmed they lost the order. When his breakfast did arrive he only had 5 minutes to eat something as we were late leaving. Not only was this awful but the same thing happened Tuesday morning also. My son was told on the phone he would have to have whatever was left. Will not be staying here again.
