Good location quiet stayed in an executive room which was some distance from reception no lift my wife had trouble with the stairs.

Arrived at 3pm and our room was not ready told to go and wait in bar waited 20 mins before anyone came to ask if we’d like a drink Shown to a courtyard room which stank of damp asked to move other room did not have a Bath bed was comfortable no shower cap in bathroom breakfast was very poor no scrambled egg mushrooms or tomatoes available very poor choice poor service and hotel is no longer offering the standard expect

My friend and I booked for the Sunday overnight Wellness Break and were looking forward to spending time in the spa for a well deserved break after a really hard year! However, it wasn't until we decided in the week before our stay to add a treatment each, that we were informed that the Thermal Suite wasn't open! Obviously this was very disappointing as that was the whole idea behind booking the Wellness Break. This should have been made clear at the time we made our booking so that we could decide whether or not we wanted to go ahead and book. As it was, our 'spa' time consisted of 45 minutes in the pool. Whilst our meal on the Sunday night was absolutely delicious, the service we received from staff left a lot to be desired. I think a refresher in customer services might be appropriate as we were left feeling that our presence was an inconvenience. The following morning, on going to make coffee for us both, we discovered that we had no milk and had to ring down to reception. Someone brought us a jug of fresh milk and told us that they were waiting for a delivery of the cartons and that's why there weren't any in our room. Whilst I understand that these things can happen, the hotel has only just reopened and I would have thought that everything would have been in place ready to receive guests. At the very least, it would have been nice to have been told about the milk situation when we booked in so that we were aware, again a lack of customer service. Breakfast was not great. We were asked what hot drinks we would like and these arrived along with 2 slices of white toast (we hadn't been asked if we wanted this). When I asked if I could please have brown toast, I was greeted with that same attitude of being an inconvenience and she said she would 'see what she could do'. The hot food had obviously been standing out on the hotplates for a considerable amount of time and was dried and hard looking. I didn't have anything from the hot food selection and my friend just got some sausages, eggs and beans and left it all as it was inedible. As everyone was asked what time they would be taking breakfast, I would have thought it would have been easy to manage when hot food went out onto the hotplates but I would suggest that all of the food had been out since breakfast started at 06:30 so you can imagine how it was by 09:00 when we arrived for our pre-booked breakfast. Neither my friend or I feel that our Wellness Break delivered what we had anticipated. To say we are disappointed in the whole experience is an understatement. We won't be going back!

The soa was really good and well run. Overalk excellent service the only small issue was that on the day we arrived the hotel bar was running low on stock including having no bar snacks Ang drinks were quite expensive even for a hotel.

Extremely helpful desk staff excellent room clean and we'll equipped. Great staff wonderful dining experiences. Two slight niggles, consider maybe some cheaper wine options and breakfast could have been slightly warmer. Still a great experience!

We enjoyed our stay but the food from the restaurant was tasteless.By the second day we had to order food in and go out for a meal.

Badly managed, staff not interested, likited food

The staff do not provide all the information for the hotel. They seem uninterested when asked questions. We had to move our room four times before finding one that was pleasant and didnt smell of smoke, this seemed to annoy the person at front desk. Food is very limited and standard. The grounds are beautiful however i wish it was managed better and the food menu was upgraded.

The hotel is very nice however it is needing a refurbishment. The bar let's itself down with its presentation and the restaurant is overpriced and limited. If I was to stay again, I would seek a local restaurant.

Our room wasn’t ready, half to wait an hour. Was provided with a complimentary drink but had to purchase others drinks due to waiting time.y husband had to go back to reception after an hour which he was then given the keys despite being told we would be found when the room was ready. The spa experience was horrendous. We were given the incorrect time for the treatment which I have email confirmation of. Was offered a 30 minute treatment, was told by the therapists to “hurry up” as they “wanted to leave at 6”. It was only because we arrived at the spa 30 minutes early that we were able to have this very short treatment which did not exceed 20 minutes. The therapists were whispering to each other through our the treatment which as you can imagine wasn’t very relaxing but very anxiety provoking. Upon leaving the room we were offered water- which our therapists told the lady holding them they “weren’t for us” fortunately they lady gave them us anyway. We were offered to book in the day after but advised we couldn’t due to having to pick our children up. Was offered a 10 voucher towards products instead. Then another couple who came out of their treatment AFTER us was offered the voucher also. We had a clump of someone else’s hair in our shower which I have a photo of! Reported all our concerns to reception who was going to offer partial refund but due to booking through spa breaks she was unable to. Was told hair in shower would be “sorted” but it remained there. The whole experience was extremely unsatisfying, upsetting and utterly disappointing. The spa manager advised he would contact us to rearrange the treatment however I am still waiting for this. We have two young children at home so this was a treat which we booked for our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Great value for one night stay however was in executive room which was farest part of hotel the room was on ground floor and had an unpleasant smell. Evening meal understaffed we were left stood waiting yo be seated for too long whilst staff too busy yo show us to table breakfast average. Didnt feel like secret escape luxury
