Convenient for trams

Customer review rating 4.0/5

Mkmapman Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

The Ibis budget offers great value just a short tram ride from Manchester City Centre - there are two stops within 3 minutes walk (Exchange Quay and Salford Quays, both on the blue line). It's on 7 floors with small but clean rooms. The shower is, in Ibis fashion, a moulded unit, but had decent pressure. There are no chairs in the double room, just a single stool. Wifi worked well. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with rolls, bread for toasting, boiled eggs, cold meat and cheese slices, yoghurt, a selection of croissants and similar pastries, apples and bananas - at a very good price. The area is a mix of offices and new residential apartments, with a Coop and a Tesco Express close by, as well as a pub opposite and a number of takeaways. But it is also convenient for the quays themselves, with fairly easy access onto the towpaths for the Manchester Ship Canal and Bridgwater canal - both good for an evening jog. It's about 30 minutes walk alonmg the canal from the Manchester Convention centre and Museum of Science & industry, or 3 stops on the tram (Metrolink).

Perfect location for concerts at Emirates Old Trafford

My daughter and I stayed for the Harry Styles concert, the hotel is idealy situated, easy to get to from Exchange Quay tram stop and then a very quick and easy walk to Emirates Old Trafford. After the concert, whilst other concert goers were having to order taxi's, my daughter and I had a quick walk back to the hotel. The hotel room was clean and functional and everything we needed. I thought there amy be noise from othher concert going guests but there was none and we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was great and I wouldn't hesitate staying at this hotel again.

The hotel was fine, it was close to the city centre and was clean. Doesn’t tell you about the pre-authorisation fee when booking do had to pay an extra £80 on top of my booking. It gets refunded but still a hidden charge.
