The hotel location is excellent for both city trips and business trips. With the stop for the streetcar right in front of the hotel it is very convenient for exploring the city, 10 minutes with the streetcar and you are in the center of Amsterdam. Royal Theater Carre and the Heineken Experience are within walking distance. You will feel right at home in the ibis Styles Amsterdam City Hotel. The ibis Styles Amsterdam City is on the edge of the Amsterdam canals and the famous 'De Pijp' district. The Anne Frankhuis, Waterlooplein, the Hermitage, Dam Square, Madame Tussaud's, Kalverstraat and the Municipal Museum are all a 10 to 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. Also pay a visit to the Van Goghmuseum, the Rijksmuseum and the Rembrandthuis. Go for a walk through Vondel Park or Sarphati Park. Fancy something different? hair in bathroom; broken dripping shower; thin sort of camping mattress; impossible to get invoice for city tax (55 euro) despite at least 4 email reminders and repeatedly asking at desk. totally not worth the exorbitant price.

People were very nice but could give no help in contacting airline to help with luggage issues. Breakfast ends at 1039 and was told at 1015 I was too late. Not very accommodating.

I would pay the extra money and stay near the main railway station. This hotel needs to remove the terrible cot-style beds and replacement with legit mattress. They also need to work on the AC.
