Good Hotel but Think About the Location

This hotel, once you get in the door, is a very nice hotel. The rooms are pleasant, the staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfast is good. The catch is that it is located on perhaps the busiest street in Amsterdam -- the Damrak. As soon as you step out the door during the day, you are in a swirling mass of humanity. So while it is very central and within an easy walk of the Central train station, it is far from either a calm or pretty location. That's not tpo say that one shouldn't stay there, but one needs to know what the area is like and decide if that is something that one wants. As a hotel I recommend it, but the location, for me, was a real drawback.

Vinita S Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

Perfect venue for an all girls trip to Amsterdam. Centrally located hotel a stone’s throw from many places of tourist attraction. Lanes around hotel are Dotted with cafes and pubs. Special thanks to the amazing front desk manager Mr. Mark. He was wonderful to our group and helped us with many things over the course of our stay. A friend had injured herself and they provided us with all help and assistance. All in all as an all girls trip group very safe and comfortable here. Lovely team. Our heartfelt thanks.

The room was great, comfortable bed, large towels, and a heated towel rack. The staff members were all polite, friendly, and responsive to my needs. I needed a power outlet for my CPAP, and an extension cord was provided to ensure that i had a good night's sleep. The location could not have been better. It was in the center of everything. I was able to walk everywhere.

My stay at the Swissôtel has been absolutely amazing! I had originally booked another hotel who had mistakenly cancelled my booking leaving me with nowhere to stay, so I was lucky to be able to find accommodation with Swissôtel. The beds and pillows are comfy the bathrooms are clean tidy and large and the location is awesome. However the BEST part of my stay would have to be the staff. They are all so kind and accommodating, friendly and warm they all went above and beyond! But a special shout out to Tetiana who was just superb. She was so thoughtful and took time to tell me all the best place to go and things to see. She gave me great restaurant tips and helped coordinate activities she really went above and beyond and was so friendly - absolutely made my stay! Thank you!

My wife and i recently spent a few nights at this hotel. It was a special occasion for us. We hoped for an early check in after an overnight trip from Africa. unfortunately that did not happen. We reserved an upgraded king room but it was very small and cramped. In addition, our view was a building under renovation with various utilities situated on the rooftop. Finally, I was having computer issues and asked if I could access a hotel computer for a short time to accomplish a few essential emails. The reply: a curt "it is not possible." Quite a different response from our hotels in Africa who were most accommodating of my request. Anyway, we will not be staying at this hotel again.
