I booked Luxury room to stay after our marriage registration. We were upgraded to the Junior suite. THe service on every step was exceptional. Check-in was easy, Louis the buttler, was very helpful to show around, and to make some arrangements for us. We were allowed to do a small photoshoot, of course with all COVID regulations, but it was extremely nice from the staff to show us around and open beautiful rooms. The room itself is very luxurios, with a TV in the bathroom, Hermes toileteries, and very comfy bathrobe. The parking was easy with the valet. And Michael, the manager, was also doing great job to make us feel special.

We booked The Grand for a night as a staycation in Amsterdam to celebrate our anniversary (very late but had to cancel plans abroad due to Corona) and it is a stunning hotel and great location but we felt that it was slightly dated, service was generally indifferent, not making one feel overly welcome (but not not welcome either, just indifferent) and an automatic address to my husband while I was the one who arranged everything (including payment) has actually made me rather frustrated (pointed this out at check in as that is where the mistake happened and yet emails to my email address now come addressed to my husband!). Dinner and service at the restaurant was amazing though so we would definitely return to Bridges.

With the complexity of the current Corona situation in mind, and the fact that we were able to stay due to a very attractive offer, I did not expect to receive the “full package”. But expectations were exceeded, on all levels. The warm welcome & farewell, various references to our marriage in the hotel in 2016, an upgrade to a (beautiful, lavish) suite, prompt response to all types of requests (including a WOW! Moment, when Isabelle from housekeeping added a handwritten note and chocolate to a late night Nespresso cups request), fantastic and genuine conversations with many of the Sofitel staff members. What a dream the past 24 hours were, and what a great team that made our stay so beautiful. Bravo to all! Thank you so much, hope to be back soon!

As an artist in residence I was invited to stay for four nights in Sofitel Legend The Grand begin December. The Karel Appel in my room was just the beginning of a journey of discovery of just how many artists contributed to the interior of this amazing hotel. I heartily recommend asking any of the concierges to join an historical tour, allowing you amongst others to see the gorgeous marriage chamber with paintings and stained glass windows by Chris LeBeau depicting, quite forward for his time, the stages of a relationship and equality between man and woman. The ceiling is filled with the signs of the zodiac, so I felt myself literally sitting beneath the stars for a bit. Perhaps the only thing more amazing than the building are its highly skilled staff, who went out of their way to make me feel at home. Never have I encountered someone wrapping a blanket on my shoulders for fear I should catch cold while making photo's outside in the hotels garden for my art. As the famous motto of the Clefs D’Or Conciërges (some of whom roam the Grand!) has it, they offer 'service through friendship'. I felt surrounded by true kindness, true interest. It was in every way an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful staycation at the Sofitel in Amsterdam. Our room was beautiful, the staff were lovely, and the food was delicious. We also found the health and safety policies in relation to COVID impeccable. We look forward to returning to the hotel with our children in January.

Overall satisfied. Amazing staff at the spa and the bars/restaurants. Friendly and professional. That made the biggest difference for us. The people there are the big difference for the hotel so take care of them. The rooms are slightly "over-dated" in my opinion and would need a bit of refresh. Stains on carpets and a slight smell of damp in the room upon arrival. The hotel is aiming for perfection so it is just an honest feedback - as part of the Sofitel Legend restricted group, the level of the rooms and attention to those details in The Metropole in Hanoi for example is on a whole other level. A negative for me were the check-in and check-out moments: - Check-in felt like it was rushed (no, arriving when a lot of people are checking out is not a reason to ask a customer to come back later if he wants more information - Early check in was a perk of the staycation package). If you know that it will happen (with Sinter Klaas), maybe propose a free drink at the bar if too busy or people waiting in lines etc... No little attentions for being a gold Accor member (having to ask for the welcome drinks when it was forgotten is a bit weird...). I have been welcomed in other hotels of the group with a lot more enthusiasm, joy and as I said making sure to make the Accor fidelity members feel special (maybe increase the number of checkin/checkout desks). - Check-Out I had to double check and remind the staff to apply the discount (20%) with the staycation package on the spa and the Orioles lunch. It feels cheap which I am sure you'd like to avoid giving this impression to your guests.

It was a bumpy ride with many things going wrong, but the staff remained helpful and welcoming. Food, service and the room were great. What went wrong: - computers were down on arrival, meaning no door cards, no wifi but also meant no TV or access to the information like check out time. - During this time 2 cleaners barged into our room without knocking... it was actually a compromising moment, which was not nice. - Then the power went out and we were kept for 2 hours in the lobby. - I had mentioned it was my birthday when booking, but nothing came of that during our stay (maybe because the computers were down you lost that information?). Despite all this, we did have a good time, but I guess that is not the ideal experience you are trying to offer.

A comfortable stayover

We were very excited to stay in Sofitel the Grand. The check in was very pleasant with a girl who lived in Malta. She made a great start of our stay! The restaurants that we tried for lunch and dinner were great, the dinner in Bridges felt a bit rushed. It looked more that they had their own dinner schedule instead of adjusting to our pace which wasn't great. We had a lovely tour and felt very welcome during our stay. During breakfast we were placed very close to each other which made it slightly uncomfortable and not private (enough). We loved the xmas decoration and overall grooming of the building. The spa was slightly underwelming since the steambath was closed, the showers didn't work and the sauna was quite small.

Although the interior was a bit outdated, the overall experience was very good.

The most beautiful hotel in Amsterdam! Perfect service with a smile, superb spacious room and at a top location in the middle of the city centre of Amsterdam. Love the restaurants and (cocktail)bar! The a-la-carte breakfast is just wonderful and generous.

We spend a night at The Grand during the lockdown and loved the small break. Everything was so well organised and safe, the staff was extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Enjoyed the dinner in Bistro Oriole and the jummy breakfast. In the evening we had the swimming pool and wellness area for ourselves and in the morning they were very flexible regarding the check-out. We could leave the car and our luggage as long as we wanted and we got a private tour around the historical building too. Located right in the middle of the city but still very quiet, perfect for a short getaway, also with kids!

We celebrated our anniversary and had a great time! The room, dinner, breakfast and amazing service throughout the stay are very memorable and we’ll definitely be back next year!

Geachte heer en mevrouw N., We stellen het zeer op prijs dat u de tijd neemt om onze enquête in te vullen na uw laatste verblijf in ons hotel.
