The ibis in De Haan was a great find. Spotlessly clean spacious rooms, very friendly staff and ideally located with ample car parking space. The wonderful swimming pool and bar area along with a terrace was a welcome break at the end of the day. The walk to the beach took approx. 10 minutes, however, I would recommend using the local tram service or car. I would recommend this hotel, and we miss it very much as we stayed at the ibis in Bruges for the remainder of our two Centre holiday which is sadly is in much need of some TLC.

Overall a good location, and clean hotel. Food was enjoyable, desk staff was lovely. Everyone was friendly and kind. Only concern was the bathroom had an awful smell in it that at times filled the entire room. Possible a damaged pipe somewhere. But satisfied other than that. Thank you!

We opted for a superior room which was fine, but not exceptional (we're glad we didn't choose a standard room!). Although the website stated that it would have tea and coffee making facilities there was only a coffee machine. Fortunately the staff managed to dig out a kettle for us so that we could make tea. The people working at reception were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good and it was nice to be able to have a drink at the bar in the evenings. The biggest disappointment - and surprise - is that housekeeping is only every two days. So if you're staying for a weekend as we were (check in Friday, check out Sunday) your bed is never made, your room isn't cleaned/tidied and your towels are not changed. We were not informed of this upon arrival. For this reason I would not return. For me, the whole point of staying at a hotel rather than renting a holiday apartment or studio is paying for the luxury of not having to do anything!

- Cellphone (calls and 4g) reception zero to none - Breakfast: all bread slices gone by 9h30. No refill. - Breakfast: Poor choice at Breakfast Buffet. - Bathroom: Black organisms (probably fungus) on the wall in side the shower cabinet. - Bathroom: To small to move around. - Room: That "thing" is a kids play not a closet. - Room: Really necessary to put us in the corner of the main hall and corridor on the first floor? Judging from the number of people at Breakfast sure other rooms of the same category were available with for example a nicer view on the treeline. - Parking: unexpected though mandatory payment of 8 euro. Sure optional but where to park otherwise? Going through the reviews now, this is mentioned before. My other experiences with Mercure hotels in Roeselare and Blankenberge in the same price range taking in account the location where outstanding. That's primarily why I wanted to choose another hotel of the Accor group for my stay. However, the experience at Ibis De Haan was a bad one. Note to self to make a choice for Mercure hotels next time.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your feedback. We are glad that you appreciated our convenient location. However we cannot boost the cell reception due to the laction of the phone masts in the area. We are an Red ibis and 2 catogories below the Mercure properties that charge more for the rooms and breakfast and therefore the comparison seems unfair. Friendly staff and good service overall, I stayed 2 nights included breakfast and for convenience decided to have dinner in the hotel as well. Dinner is overall good but clearly re-heated in the microwave as some parts were hot and some were cold, staff is friendly but sometimes lacking teamwork, the first evening I had to call them myself to order food while people that came in after me ordered before me, better training and communication is required. Nice place to stay but since the prices are already on the high side of the market, I wasn't very happy that the parking costs extra while there is plenty of room for everyone and the hotel is located in an area away from the center of town.

It was just perfect, The staf was very friendly.breakfast was very extensive with hot and cold dishes, coffee cakes and fruit and everything was adequately present . For walking cards were also present but walking along the beach with our dog was fantastic for us

A well located hotel, the comfortable rooms are basic but always clean. wifi worked really well. Strangely mob phone (base) service inside the building- its been that way the last 3 years. look forward to being back and using the pool once allowed by the Belg authorities.

Excellent hotel in scenic area. The staff are welcoming, courteous and professional. The hotel rooms are spacious with wifi and aircon/heating you can control. The double beds are comfortable. Breakfast is excellent compared to other Ibis hotels. The hotel is a short walk ( but pleasant) from the tram stop which will take you to De Haan or Ostende
