It was not made clear when I booked that breakfast is served in a different hotel. The room was small, lighting was not good, the bathroom washbasin was tiny, there was only one bedside table and it was tiny, tea and milk were not replenished daily, there was not much space to hang and store clothes.

Rooms were tiny and basic. Location was great. Check in was easy. Staff friendly.

Having stayed here many times when it was just plain IBIS, we were disappointed with the IBIS Styles makeover. Admittedly, some may like the unstaffed remote terminal check in/out, but we found it slower to check in and unfriendly. The room itself seemed cramped, with very little rom between the bottom of the bed and the wall. In this space also sticking out was the wall mounted TV which made getting from one side of the bed to the other more aligned to a yoga move than a simple walk in a bedroom. Another irritation was the bright light on the air conditioning unit and on the thermostat and the flashing red lights on the smoke detector which are hardly sleep inducing. The bathroom shower was good but the sink was tiny with a large tap across it. As for the loo, this was wedged in the corner and I'd be surprised if a tall person would be able to sit on it without knees scraping the wall in front. What was wrong with the old IBIS bathroom pods which were fully functional and well thought out? That said, the hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring Brugge and the nearby car park is brilliant.
