Went with my son. The hotel is located in a lovely area that’s easily accessible by metro. We used the metro throughout our 4 days stay. The rooms are clean but very very small. My son and I are small in size but the room was still very small for us. The bathroom as well. The shower cabin is very tiny and the door doesn’t slide meaning half of the door is open. That means half the water pours outside. You can’t stand under the shower and take a free shower as this would flood the floor even more. Instead you have to disengage the shower head and direct it to where you want it to be. This fact that every thing is too small really spoilt the experience for us in Paris. No wardrobe but you get a corner with hangers to hang your stuff. No kettle to make tea or coffee and of course no small fridge to keep drinks. It’s really a budget hotel. Everything is small. Even the dining room is very tiny and the breakfast was the same every day. It’s was ok for 4 days but longer than that I would definitely not eat there anymore because of the monotony of food. Other than that the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I don’t speak French but they were able to communicate with a smile. I don’t think I would book it again mostly because of the room size and breakfast situation.

We have frequently stayed at the two Ibis hotels in Rue Des Plantes, Alesia. This is the first time that we have come away disappointed, Just one main reason - we stayed two nights and there was no hot water at all throughout our stay. We were informed of this when we arrived we were told that a technician was in and that there would be hot water in the morning. There wasn't any hot water in the morning or throughout our stay. This was really disappointing and we received no apology. This just isn't what we would have expected and hence, having made ten previous bookings with Ibis Alesia, we will not be returning.

We loved this hotel - fabulous location, very clean and a great breakfast! Special mention for the lovely Lina - what a great welcome! Nothing was too much trouble for her. In fact all the staff were so nice. Yes, the room was small, but most rooms in Paris are. However, we were out most of the day so just used it for sleeping. I would have given a 10 were it not for the woeful aircon! This should not be included in the hotel description as it just doesn’t work properly. After 3 hot nights we finally discovered that there were a few portable units and luckily one was free, so our final 2 nights were a little more comfortable. The previous week we stayed at an Ibis Budget in Angouleme and its aircon was superb, so no excuse given that this Ibis is supposedly a step up! However, we will now always use this hotel when we visit Paris, but will just avoid the summer.
