Charge €5 for each luggage even a gift bag and I need to put it inside my suitcase

Check in was very smooth. Room was comfortable but the AC was extremely noisy (took 10 minutes for the noise to disappear… trick that we discovered later in the morning). Annoying noise (i.e. people moving furnitures) started around 7:30am (upstairs and/or around our room?). And cleaning staff knocked on the door before 9am on our check out morning.

For a four-star hotel like this Mercur Hotel, we had no conditions at all, on the contrary, conditions that were hard to look at. Dirt on the floor in the bathroom, lack of air and a very defiant personal attitude.

The hotel has very poor services, old rooms, the AC is not working properly and staff are not enough professional.

My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. We arrived very late because our flight was delayed. At check-in, the receptionist informed us that we had to pay a €150 damage deposit. This information was not provided when I made the booking, so it came as a surprise. When we entered our room, we found that the bathroom was in poor condition. The toilet tiles were cracked, and the flush button was damaged, meaning you had to press and hold it to flush properly. We were exhausted from our journey, so we decided to ignore the issues and get some rest. The next morning, my daughter injured her foot on the broken toilet tiles. I immediately went to reception to report the problem. I took photos and showed them to the receptionist. The lady at reception was very kind, apologised sincerely, and promised that our room would be changed later that day. I also asked why I was expected to pay a €150 damage deposit when we had been given a damaged room. She explained that the deposit was to cover drinks from the minibar. However, the drinks in the minibar were not even worth €100, so the purpose and amount of the deposit were still unclear to me. After spending the day sightseeing, we returned late and were given keys to our new room. Imagine my surprise when we opened the door. The lights were not working, and the room had an unpleasant smell. I went back to reception, but I did not feel welcomed. There seemed to be a language barrier, as some of the staff could not speak English well, which made communication difficult. Eventually, one of the receptionists, who was very polite and helpful, came to inspect the room with me. He confirmed that the lights were indeed not working. By this point, I was frustrated and decided that I would rather stay in our original room than move into another room with problems. The helpful receptionist apologised and said they would upgrade us to a better room. My children were excited, but I told them not to get their hopes up because, based on the attitude and body language of the other receptionist, I did not believe the upgrade would happen. Unfortunately, I was right. The helpful receptionist later returned with an older colleague to tell us that the older receptionist had fixed the lights in the second room and that we could move there. I declined. I did not feel comfortable moving into a room that had only just been repaired, as I was concerned the lights might stop working again during the night. Overall, I was disappointed by the condition of the rooms, the lack of clear information about the €150 deposit, and the way our concerns were handled. Although a few members of staff were friendly and genuinely tried to help, the overall experience fell far below my expectations.

Second stay at that hotel (because the location is good); the first time I was disappointed by the cheap 5 Eur charge to store your luggage for the day… —> Which they now advertise at check-in… By all mean, this hotel will fulfill your basic expectations, it is clean, the bed are comfy, there are food available. Where the gap is massive is the customer service / the friendliness / the personal touch… —> It is inexistent. Due to its location, you would expect the staff to be used to get guests in & out at odd hours pending on your train schedule…. Well they are not… —> Had a very early train and needed to checkout at 05h00 before the breakfast open, the day before I told them and asked for a take-away breakfast… which they forgot… It’s not a big deal overall but the way they handled the situation tells a mile… Again, a functional hotel but do not expect anything further…

We booked a room with Eiffel tower. First room we got was 7th floor with nice view but no AC (29° in the room) but a basic fan, bathroom problems and no phone functioning to contact reception. They changed us and place us in 2nd floor. AC ok this time but very poor view on Eiffel tower, windows extremely dirty, and building work in progress just in front (it's why the windows were do dirty). In sum up, I paid more expensive room and I got below basic standards... Not acceptable Especially when you are Accor member.

Refrigerator did not cool any items. Room felt dated. The front desk staff was helpful, and friendly bartender.

A/C was not working. Reception staff is not polite, nothing special happened but they attend you like they don’t want to be there.

Booked because of a late arrival at Gare Montparnasse. Arrived late. Good room, good service, great breakfast.

Thankfully, we only stayed at this hotel for one night. We booked a one-night stay for our family of four—my wife and I, along with our children aged 8 and 5. We chose this hotel primarily because of its proximity to Montparnasse train station, as we needed to catch a 6:00 a.m. train to the South of France the following morning. We arrived from London just before midday, but understandably our rooms weren’t ready. We were asked to return at 4:00 p.m., which is standard practice at most hotels. The hotel securely stored our luggage, allowing us to explore Paris without dragging our suitcases around, and we appreciated that. By the time we finally checked in, we were exhausted. We’d been walking around all afternoon after an early 4:00 a.m. start to catch the Eurostar from London, so all we wanted was to rest. Unfortunately, that’s where our experience went downhill. We were allocated two interconnected rooms, which initially seemed ideal for a family of four. However, only one room had built-in air conditioning. The second room had a portable air conditioning unit with an exhaust hose simply hanging out of an open window. Unsurprisingly, it was largely ineffective, as any cool air it produced was immediately offset by the hot air pouring back in through the open window. More concerning was the safety issue. We were on the sixth floor, and the open window was directly behind a desk that our young children could easily climb onto. Given their age and natural curiosity, we were genuinely worried about the risk of a serious accident. Our original plan was for the children to sleep in the properly air-conditioned room while my wife and I used the other room. However, we quickly realised this wasn’t practical. We couldn’t leave the children unattended in a separate room, meaning the connecting door would have to remain open. At the same time, we couldn’t relax knowing there was an unsecured open window just a few feet from a climbable desk. The risk simply wasn’t one we were prepared to take. In the end, all four of us slept in the single room with proper air conditioning, meaning the second room went completely unused. Even if we’d wanted to use it, it was far too hot to sleep comfortably. I didn’t have a thermometer, but I’d estimate the temperature was well into the high 20s. We stayed on 16 July 2026 during a period of hot, humid weather, making the lack of effective air conditioning even more unacceptable. Our one-night stay cost €255.85 (£217.29), which I consider completely unreasonable given the standard of accommodation we received. Paying for two rooms but only being able to use one left us feeling short-changed and extremely disappointed. I considered raising the issue with reception. However, after looking out of the window, I noticed several other rooms with portable air conditioning hoses hanging from open windows, suggesting this wasn’t an isolated issue but a known and ongoing problem. I find it very surprising that Mercure continues to sell these rooms during the summer as if they offer equivalent accommodation to rooms with proper air conditioning. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience warrants one. I’m not sure whether it will lead to any meaningful action or even receive a response. A partial refund—perhaps 50% of the cost—would seem like a fair gesture given that one of the rooms was effectively unusable for our family. I have been a loyal Accor member for many years, and I sincerely hope this was an isolated experience rather than a reflection of the standards I can expect in the future.

The staff behaviour was very rude. The hotel unreasonably have a 4pm checkin time (with the regular 12 pm checkout). The hotel doesn't even allow putting luggage in cloak room after checkout and asks for extra money for the same. Post checkout when we were at the lobby resting for some time before our flight time, the hotel staff asked us to leave the hotel premise. Worst hotel every. Never ever will I stay in hotel and recommend people to stay away! All this when I'm a Accor Gold member.

No air conditioning. Bathroom very old and sink clogged after use. Breakfast was not good

Room was extremely old and dirty. A/C didn’t work at all and after asking for help nothing was done.

I specifically booked at Accor hotel to have a 24h reception desk and be able to check in late. Once arriving in he reception made efforts to find my reservation and fortunately a room was still available! But arriving in the room I had to put myself the blanket in the bed it was not prepared

This was both unexpected and highly concerning, particularly as the requested changes had already been acknowledged by your team. Following considerable follow-up and clarification from our side, the reservation was eventually reinstated. However, we have observed that the reinstated reservation no longer includes breakfast. This is inconsistent with the original confirmation and our prior discussions, during which breakfast was confirmed as part of the booking. This sequence of events has resulted in unnecessary confusion and inconvenience. We have always valued the quality of service associated with the Accor brand, and this experience has unfortunately fallen short of our expectations. We kindly request that you review the reservation and reinstate the breakfast inclusion as originally confirmed. We would also appreciate written confirmation once the reservation has been updated accordingly. We trust that you will treat this matter with the attention it deserves and take the necessary steps to ensure a prompt resolution.
