I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient and easy to access. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. The housekeeping team did an excellent job keeping the room fresh and spotless every day. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Over that period, however, we experienced persistent problems across most areas of the operation, and despite repeated feedback, very little improved. Front desk: Basic requests were often handled slowly or not at all, and information was rarely passed on, so we generally had to initiate and follow up every interaction ourselves. Processing payments frequently took longer than it should have, and staff sometimes had difficulty calculating the correct amount. There appeared to be no reliable way of recording guest interactions, following up on issues, or recognising long-term guests. Housekeeping: Linen was often the wrong size for the beds and pillows. On several occasions we found holes in the linen, and once a towel was still stained with blood. Cleaning and bed-making standards varied noticeably between staff. Sheets and blankets were often tucked so low that the bed had to be partly remade to cover your upper body. Vacuums were used roughly against floors and walls; we later learned this was because the vacuum head came loose when used normally. Staff were often loud, calling out along the corridors. When linen ran short, items were sometimes simply not replaced, and toilet paper was restocked inconsistently, at times by leaving a full pack in the bathroom. Maintenance: The master bathroom had a recurring mould and mildew problem that was wiped down and painted over, only to return within weeks. A loose toilet seat was glued back off-centre. The master bedroom air conditioning never cooled the room adequately. We were initially advised to raise the temperature setting to cool the room, and when we raised it again later, a thermometer was placed in the vent and the unit declared to be working, even though the room itself remained too warm. Several faulty power outlets were never repaired despite repeated follow-up. For the first two to three years, we regularly had low water pressure and cold showers. We were assured, only in response to our complaints, that the boilers were being replaced. Communication and policy: Notice of alarm testing was inconsistent. Although we were told testing happened twice a year, in practice it was closer to quarterly. When the "Do Not Disturb" sign was displayed, staff phoned the room instead of knocking, which still disturbed us. We were later told that deliveries would no longer be brought to the apartment and had to be collected from reception, which undermines a key benefit of serviced accommodation. A 5% price increase was introduced with no corresponding improvement in service, and we received no clear communication about the renovation plans, which appeared to change several times. Management: We raised these issues directly with the manager on several occasions, but saw little meaningful change. A visible presence in the foyer is welcome, but it is not a substitute for resolving recurring operational problems. Overall: The location suited us, which is why we stayed as long as we did. However, given the ongoing issues and the lack of follow-through, it is unlikely we would stay here again.

The staff were so nice and accommodating in all parts of the hotel

Overall, I was very happy with my stay. Everything was good, I was upgraded to a better room, which I really appreciated, and I genuinely enjoyed the hotel and the service. Unfortunately, the check-out experience spoiled the final impression. I was asked to pay an additional SAR 85, but it was never clearly explained what this charge was for. I did not use any additional paid services during my stay. The only thing I consumed in the room was the complimentary water provided there, and my accommodation had already been fully paid. I explained several times that I had not used any additional services and that I needed to leave for the airport, but I was still asked to wait and was not able to complete the check-out and leave promptly. Obviously, simply walking away would not have been appropriate, so I had no choice but to wait until the situation was resolved. As a result, I lost valuable time and came very close to missing my flight. It is unfortunate because everything else about my stay was very positive. I would just strongly recommend improving the check-out process and making sure that any additional charges are clearly explained and verified before asking a guest to pay, especially when the guest has a flight to catch.

I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable way my mother was treated during our stay. I stayed in this apartment for 10 days and paid AED 7,755 for the accommodation. On the final day, I was supposed to check out, but due to an unexpected matter, I was delayed. I contacted the management and clearly informed them that I needed to extend the stay for one additional night. The management also contacted me four times that same day regarding the extension. The apartment consists of two bedrooms and a living room, and I was staying there with my mother. My mother returned to the apartment before I did. When she arrived at the apartment door, her access card was no longer working, leaving her unable to enter. She immediately contacted the management and asked them to send someone to open the door. Instead of assisting her, the staff member told her that she would not be allowed to enter until the payment for the additional night had been made. My mother explained that the reservation was under my name, not hers, and that I was her son and would personally make the payment. She even told the staff member that I would pay as soon as I arrived. Despite this, he refused to open the door and told her that she could not enter until the payment was made. As a result, my mother was forced to stand outside the apartment for approximately 30 minutes. This treatment was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I had already paid AED 7,755 for the accommodation, and I had clearly confirmed that I would pay for the additional night. There was no reasonable justification for refusing my mother access to the apartment, especially when she was not the person responsible for the reservation or payment. What is even more concerning is the complete lack of consideration and respect shown toward my mother. She was left standing outside the apartment for 30 minutes simply because the staff member refused to assist her until I completed the payment. I expect the management to take this complaint seriously, investigate the incident, and provide me with a clear explanation as to why my mother was treated in this manner. I also believe that compensation is appropriate given the inconvenience, distress, and unacceptable treatment she experienced. I look forward to receiving your response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter.

I have stayed at the Adagio Al Bustan since February 2023. The facility is well located for work out of the city, while also an easy commute to downtown and the Corniche. The apartment is very comfortable, and the dual aspect gives excellent sunlight and a view toward the Eastern Mangroves. An excellent staff - I cannot praise them enough - make the stay easy and enjoyable. Thank you all!
