The Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi never disappointed us!!! It's our second time going there for the advanced celebration of my birthday. Everything was okay from the time we checked in until we checked out. We had a large group of 9 including a 4 month old baby. We were emailed before arriving by Ethiad who assured us that there were plenty eating places and entertainment open in the hotel. They lied. Peoples restaurant was closed (we were told it would be open for al a carte lunch service); the infinity cafe was chargeable (no notification of this in the email); the Antidote bar refused children after 10pm which left our group with no where to go for a drink after that time, we enjoy playing cards together and having cocktails or a beer in the evenings when on vacation; the oriental restaurant on 37th floor did not allow children under 6 to go in which meant we couldn’t enjoy a family meal there together which was most frustrating, we were turned away when a few of the adults in our group tried to go there to see the view and enjoy a drink which made us very angry because other hotel guests we spoke to had been allowed to go for a drink there even if they weren’t eating; the only entertainment in the hotel was a fortnightly Latino music night which started around 10pm in antidote bar but we had to leave then because we had children in our party, other than that there was a violin player occasionally in the lobby. Not what we were told before arriving!
