Worst experience in a hotel in the UAE

This is the worst experience I’ve had in any hotel in the UAE when checking in! The staff at reception are so incredibly slow and there’s no communication between them when changing shifts. I’ve arrived and took around 30 minutes to complete the check in process with a guy at reception. We booked 2 rooms and requested if they can be close to each other. He told me the rooms will take time to be ready, and that he’ll get everything ready for us. I told him it’s ok I can wait since we were going for dinner. When we finished our dinner, I came back to take the keys, the guy was gone and replaced by a lady. She had no clue that I’ve already checked in and asked me to do the check in all over again. I explained that I’ve gone through this with her colleague and that he prepared everything for us. It took her another 20 minutes after speaking to the manager to let me know that the rooms we requested cannot be given to us and that they’re going to put us in other rooms. I agreed, then went to the rooms. One room was ok but the other was smelling like smoking and cooking, the smell was so strong and I couldn’t take it especially because I have asthma. I went back to the same lady and asked to get a different room. She gave me a different room, I went there and it was as bad! The smell of smoking was so strong! I went back to reception and told her just give me any room, it doesn’t have to be close to the first one. So now I’m in a different building and drained from the extremely long process it took to get us decent rooms! Never coming back again here. The only upside to the hotel is that it has Swiss Butter restaurant which is not even managed by the hotel.

I had booked the hotel to celebrate my friends birthday. However due to some queries I was calling the hotel 1 week before the stay and it was extremely disappointing, on how they never responded and kept on repeating. On the check in day I called and asked if I could talk to the manger and the staff kept telling She will let him call me and no one bothered. I raised this concern during check in but no one bothered and just told me an unapologetic sorry. After that I kept calling reception which was not responsive and then told them to connect to the manager. After sometime he did give me a call and offered a complimentary breakfast which I refused because everything was undone. I feel the services and the entire trip was a disaster

We stayed in the Superior Queen room with sofa bed. Room is clean and housekeeping is top quality. I'm so glad that the hotel was so accommodating to all our requests. Room is of a good size to fit 2 adults and 3 children. The lobby is design is modern and chic. However, the location of the hotel is not in the downtown area hence, you'll need a short Uber or Careem ride to get to places. We enjoyed our stay and won't mind returning again next time.
