Over priced for the tiny room we got

I appreciate that because of the euros prices went up but the tiny room we got for the money we spent was ridiculous. We were in several German Cities but this was the most disappointing location by far. I will think twice before I book an Ibis again

You write that the room rate you paid was not justified. During the period of your visit, the international Spoga/Gafa trade fair - which is within walking distance of the hotel - and the UEFA match between Scotland and Switzerland were taking place. In the hotel industry, too, supply and demand determine the price. So you can imagine that demand around the trade fair was particularly high during this period. Nevertheless, our rate within the 2* competitor market was below the average, which was €212 per night - excluding breakfast and bed tax. Within walking distance of the hotel you can reach the Cologne Trade Fair Centre, the Lanxess arena and the Tanzbrunnen. You can get to the old town and the cathedral by tram. The Köln Deutz Messe and Deutz Bahnhof stops are within walking distance of the hotel. Cologne Deutz also has an ICE railway station, which is one stop before Cologne Central Station.
