The room was pleasant and had all I needed. Checking in and out was efficient and the staff helpful. I liked the "African" theme, though some of the decorations looked a little "tired". I would have appreciated a suitcase stand and a refrigerator/cooler that actually cooled the contents. The bathroom was well-appointed and the shower efficient but it was not easy to get in and out of the bath/shower, due to the fixed screen and inadequate handrails; I was quite concerned about slipping when getting out in particular.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. Excellent experience, would recommend the hotel to travellers. The staff were friendly, English speaking and very helpful. Food in their restaurant was excellent, (though I only ate there once), costing around €25 for a main course. There is a well stocked bar too and a choice of cocktails! The rooms are comfortable, with a fridge and a safe.

We arrived at the hotel as a party of 13 travelling together. I was told that our booking wasn’t on the system. It was eventually found to be booked for 1 week later. There was a totally inflexible approach from the hotel. No room offered. Fortunately our party managed to fit us into their rooms. We had paid for room and breakfast on original booking but still had to pay €144 euros pp for breakfasts. We had a couple of conversations and exchanged emails about the situation but nothing was resolved. In terms of the hotel, the room I ended up staying in had been booked for a guest who needed an adapted room to accommodate a physical disability. The room didn’t even have a handrail in the very tiny shower. If you need adaptations I would strongly suggest confirming by email that the room being offered is suitable. The shower hose was twisted and caused flooding of the bathroom when in use. This was reported but not resolved. The breakfast was extensive and really good. I cannot think of anything that someone might want to eat that wasn’t available except fried or poached eggs. The bacon wasn’t English style, more the American style crispy streaky. Service was efficient. The hotel bar is fairly small but has a good selection of drinks. Michael the server was especially helpful. The eating area in the bar was very small and didn’t really accommodate all the people who wanted to eat there. Food wait was variable with a 90 minute wait from ordering on one occasion. The food was really good when it did arrive. The hotel is handily placed for a supermarket, a couple of bakeries/cafes - it is easy to get alternatives to hotel food offerings if you have a budget. The train network is nearby but we used taxis or uber/bolt - there was usually enough of us the make it worthwhile. Would I stay there again….. probably not on principle due to their inflexibility but had I not had that bitter experience then maybe but there is a Premier Inn across from the hotel - you know what to expect!
