We stayed 3 nights in April 2025. The room had NO air conditioning or fan circulation. I asked for a fan and the hotel rep told me to ask the bar for a bag of ice to use as a pillow for my head to help cool down even though the room was 26 degrees C! If you opened the window the loud noise from cars, trains and buses all night made sleep impossible. After a request they did give us a room change away from the train station side of the hotel but we were told to expect loud night sounds because we were in the city. That room had no air conditioning or fan either. We tried to escape the room and go to the atrium area of the bar but it was all locked up and not accessible. The breakfast option was expensive but had a lot to offer. We didn't sleep well due to the room being so hot and being told by staff that we were in Germany after all. I know German people are straightforward but it didn't solve the problem. The room was spacious, maid service was very good, and the bar staff was pleasant to talk to. Next time we will stay somewhere different.

the location of this Mercure hotel is good, there is a train station right outside of the hotel, hence very convenience for transportation. It's my first time to Mercure Koln, the interior room map is like a maze, though there is good guide on the room and facility location, still take a while to find my room number and ironing room. Iron is not in the room but at 4th floor, and you need your room card to access to the iron, please do not forget your room card for ironing. Bed is comfy, in room amenities like shower cap and sandals are not in the room, upon request only. Overall, good stay.

Not a fan of carpet in hotels due to allergies if bothered me. Spacious room. Bathroom clean but the shower is very very dangerous. Super slippy there is no handle you van hold on to. If you’re older or have disabilities, problems with balance etc don’t stay here!!

The hotel is in a good central position and parking in the Garage is easy. We attended a conference which was fine. The only issue was the beamer was old and the sounds was poor. But I guess that could have been down to the organizor. The bar area is nice and we have a very nice cold meat plate. The rooms were fine, clean and fit for purpose.
