Hotel is located about 1.5 km from Hbf. Very easy to walk the distance if you are travelling light. Hotel is clean and staff is very helpful. The gym and spa are a bonus. Overall it was a pleasant stay and overall experience was very good.

I always stay at this hotel in Cologne because of its location, friendly staff and the fact that I am an Accor member. I've stayed at the Mercure Hotel Severinshof Koeln City over 25 times in the last 15 years or so. However, there are a couple of negative points. The ceilings in the public areas, including the breakfast/dining area, are full of holes. One can see all the exposed wires, ducts and other equipment. It doesn't seem hygienic, especially around food. Also, while I love the breakfast (especially the crispy American-style bacon), I find the current price of 24 euros per person per day to be too high.

This requires necessary structural work in all areas of the building, which may be visible at times but is strictly temporary and will be fully resolved once the project is completed. We had a very good stay at the Mercure Hotel Severinshof Köln City. The hotel is well located and convenient, with the added benefit of parking, which made our visit to Cologne very easy and stress-free. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, offering a good night’s sleep throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is calm and practical, ideal for both short city trips and business stays. Dinner service was a clear highlight. The restaurant staff were attentive and the evening meals were well prepared, making dining at the hotel an enjoyable experience. Breakfast, however, did not fully meet expectations. While it was still acceptable and offered a reasonable selection, it felt somewhat below the standard set by the rest of the hotel experience and could benefit from some improvement in variety and quality. Overall, this was a very good stay, with strong points in comfort, location, and dinner service, balanced by a breakfast that could be improved. We would consider staying here again when visiting Cologne.

REzeption staff at check in, great, breakfast great / even a travel group was at the same time there / so well done, a bewildering experience watching your staff quizzing a platinum member whether there is actually a credit card in his booking....but what is most annoying and I will never want to stay in this room / bath room smells like an open sewer and of course the room sooner or later too and having the window open to fool the incoming guest is poor. I had no chance to tell the receptionist at check out about that and I was tired from travel but please have this fixed it is just poor standard
