we have been coming to this hotel now for a few years, singly and as a family. It is exztremely well appointed, staff is consistently nice and know what they are doing, BF is very good. Hotel is very well located, in walking distance to a REWE, with a brilliant Thai Restaurant on the opposite side of the street and Okini w Panasian fusion food.

I can't express how disappointing this whole experience was. The room itself was fine although there was some frustrating aspects - no toaster or oven because of a sensitive fire alarm system and a distinct lack of any usable equipment - making the reason I booked it (being able to make breakfast in our room) very difficult. The fridge was also left off and open so it took a very long time to get down to temperature and given we'd arrived with cold stuff this was also frustrating. I appreciate leaving it off and open serves a purpose but surely a hotel in July won't go very long without being occupied so it seems an odd decision to me! The main issue however, was two fold - the air con in our room was broken and the complete lack of care / action from anyone. We of course noticed as soon as we got in the room, but thought it might be like the fridge and would take a while to get working fully. My husband mentioned it to the front desk and was told that we did just need to give it time. We thought perhaps we were being dramatic and given that it was a heat wave that maybe it had to work really hard and that it'd be fine eventually so tried to go to sleep. But this was impossible it was so hot it was unbearable. We tried sleeping with the window open but due to it's location there appeared to constantly be people outside. This was annoying for us but was sending our poor dog crazy. We didn't want to disturb the neighbour either side of us so my husband again went downstairs to speak to reception. This time a very nice lady came up and had a look. She said it did appear to be broken but there wasn't anything that could be done at this stage (around 1am and with no spare rooms) and that she'd let the day person know who would deal with it asap. The next day my husband spoke to someone early when he took the dog out and again asked if we could move rooms - apparently still no. He was told that the "technical man" was in the building and would come to have a look and asked we stay in the room. Given we're on holiday (and the unbearable temperature in the room) this was difficult. We waited as long as we could (about 2 hours) but had an appointment we had to leave for. We told reception on the way out that we'd be gone for a couple of hours. When we get back we're told that the "technical man" has been and it is indeed broken but that they need a specialist to fix it and they didn't know if that specialist could come today. They again asked us to go and wait in our very hot room until they could find out. We waited in the room for a further 2/3 hours before we decided we would not be spending another night in the room because at 3pm they couldn't tell us when (or even if) someone was coming to fix it. My husband again went down and told them this. He asked for a refund of the night we weren't staying and, the previous night too (given we had barely slept). He was told the hotel itself couldn't help and he was given an email address. He emailed them on 16 July and chased them on the 21 July as hadn't received a response. Upon being chased they said they couldn't respond until the hotel deputy manager was back which wouldn't be until the end of July so we're still waiting. Even if I get a full refund I am still very unhappy with this whole experience and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It just really ruined our time in Köln.

We liked the location and the refreshments in the lobby. We enjoyed the added convenience of the small kitchen. The bed was comfortable but the pull out couch was not. We found the parking to be extremely expensive and the room was very tight with 4 people.

Unfortunately, the apartment layouts were described in this way during the construction period. We had no say in how the premises were depicted. Parking charges are set by the operator of the public underground car park and are in line with the usual rates for public car parks in Cologne city centre. The room was disappointing. The air conditioning was very noisy but barely cooled the room, making it uncomfortable to sleep. The bathroom was not very clean, with visible stains, and I even found a silverfish. The room was also very dark due to the lack of natural light. Overall, the room did not meet my expectations.

I've stayed at Adagio three times now, love the location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Only criticism is the gym; it's been the same since my first visit in 2015 and really needs some updating, new equipment (rower screen was broken) and some air ventilation.

The room was not cleaned to a high level, The reception staff were adequate but need more training in how to treat guests to a professional standard. The lighting of the room is extremely impractical as it is very poor and the decoration was dreary and dismal.
