The hotel is lovely and in a good position. Not a long walk from the river, chocolate museum or city centre. Room is super clean and great size. Staff were friendly. Has a restaurant and bar and sauna/gym but unfortunately didn’t get to use any during our stay.

Good sized clean room. Nicely decorated. Satisfactory check in. Good bed. Breakfast selection was huge but still could use improvement; better selection of white bread, more choices in sandwich spread (nutella, peanut butter, etc.). Fast check out was pleasant but there was no box to drop the key in so still had to queue.

Room sizes are conformable enough for a family of 4 staying one night, but unfortunately there was quite a lot of noise coming from adjacent rooms and other guests in the corridor. The cleanliness of the room was also disappointing. Breakfast was very good though.

Upon checked in around 3pm, as Platinum member my room was 'upgraded' but lot of noise of construction work right next to my room. I just need a 90 minutes short rest but not possible, called reception and being told that contraction will be done in 1 hour which was not true. No warning when checked in. No sorry/ apology. I will never come again!

from November 2019 onwards I'm booking the Novotel very often and starting November I'm already a Silver member of Accor. first introduction at the check-in desk was hello you don't get your points because your booking was done via Booking.com. Welcome drink NOT received this time. I paid the same amount of money so I don't understand this rule. Beds are very soft and rooms are to warm. I decided to book Mercure for next week, I hope my experience will be better.

I really can´t understand at all why asking for a "soup" plate for my breakfast muesli (instead of the "miniature" dessert bowls you offer by default on the buffet), seems to cause such a huge challenge to the staff...! I´ve already reported this experience after my last stay at your hotel in 03/2019, but I decided to give it a new chance now again. Unfortunately this failed completely again this time from my observation... I have not ask for fresh strawberry's or Atlantic oysters, nor something else really irregular. No, only just for a simple plate. In 03/2019 one answer I´ve received to my request was : "we do this unwillingly". And now after coming back my impression again was, that it caused some major trouble and huge efforts to fulfill my desire. Yes, finally I received my requested plate (unwillingly?)... At least I felt not to be welcome at all and that I only disturb the daily processes that take place. Moreover I can´t follow why it appears necessary that the toaster on the breakfast menu, which may consume 1KW minimum (?) of electrical power needs to be turned on working during the complete breakfast time. I traveled alone and used the chance to observe, that during I had my breakfast, no one ever had used that device. Couldn´t something like a switch be installed, with which this device can be turned on just on guests demand ? Finally I noticed that the minibar in my room does not contain any beverages, but only a sign which mentioned that these can be kept from a vending machine in the lobby. But the mini bar refrigerator device was turned to maximum power. So it contained a nice cold sign... (!). From my opinion this all is a mind set within the professional habits that are practiced within you house, that I can´t share nor understand and which makes it quite unlikely, that I will return for a third stay. Last time in 03/2019 I´ve reported my mentioned experiences only here within your internal rating survey. You have gained me just some extra ACCOR points then, but it seemed not to have any impact on the habits that where practiced. Thanks again for that! So for now I´m close to report this even to other official rating boards, like perhaps "holidaycheck" and/or others.

Due to confusion at reservation the room was mistakenly booked for one year later. The staff fixed the problem. General comment: At Hilton, when using points to book a room there is a special reception of the guest. At Accor, this does not seem to be the case, though in this case, due to the booking confusaion, the staff had no way of knowing.

It was different than what is published about the hotel, lot of hidden charges. I booked through the Accor website, which had a deal of free breakfast if you book a room, that never happened. It was a room only deal. The staff was not polite and helpful at all. I was told about parking, but not that it was played and not free.

the room n°317 was really not what we've expected.. it supposed to be a romatic stay at Novotel Köln, but a disabled room, which smelled to cleaning products whas not that romantic. (and we do really have respect to less mobility persons) we were also not informed at the check in about the room, what I found, very unfortunate
