The building is absolutely stunning so much so that walking tours usually stop by to take pictures of the courtyard. It could totally be a movie set for something like the 3 musketeers. for Xmas, they had it all decorated which added to the magic. The rooms are very nice and perfectly sound proofed. The location is unbeatable especially if you go during the Xmas markets season: you are literally across the river from the "Grande ile" which is the small historical district of Strasbourg where all the markets are: much easier to arrive at the hotel by car as the island itself is mostly closed and super busy. My wife and I didn't try the breakfast but my kids said it was really good (stollen cakes...). But beyond all that, the most incredible part of this hotel is the staff... I worked with them for months ahead of the trip to organize things and they were absolutely fantastic. During the stay, they had all sorts of little attentions and surprises to make the stay more special. It might be a 4* hotel on paper but the experience really feels more like a 5*. I would not even look at any other hotel if I had to go back to Strasbourg Merci!

The room safe did not function. I put my things in. Then I could not get them out. The male receptionist took a long time to get back to me. “ you’re not the only guest in the hotel”. Handyman finally came. He could not fix it. Then the handyman came back with tools. He could not fix it. He told me the battery was dead. He could not open the room safe. This was all at 6:00PM. Finally a technician came the next morning at 8:00AM. With a simple key he opened the safe. I was without my passport, tickets, and money all night. Another receptionist told me she was sorry I had minibar problems. I had no minibar problems. The problem was the room safe. I will never stay at your hotel ever again

We arrived a couple of hours before usual check in time to a warm greeting and our premium room was ready which was great. The room was exceptional , very clean and well presented with lots of space, a large and comfortable bed which we slept very well in and a good sized bathroom. The shower was in the bath and a slight struggle to use because of positioning.The room temperature controls were great, easy to use and actually worked very well. Apart from our neighbours who seemed to like slamming their door the room was really quiet and no disturbances through the night. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice and exceptional staff and the room was then the comfortable lounge bar for the afternoon and evening. All the staff were helpful and friendly and there was a really relaxed and comfortable ambience at the hotel.It was a great pleasure to return here after being out and the location right across the bridge from the central old town island was perfect. The history and layout of the hotel is fascinating and the approach through the outside courtyard is a real pleasure to experience. We noticed a couple of small group tours actually came to the courtyard to see the history and take photographs. We loved everything about this hotel and we really appreciate having had the opportunity to spend some time there. It will certainly remain in our memories as a special place and if you have the opportunity to stay there we highly recommend you do.

Being greeted at check-in like they were expecting old friends, receiving an incredible upgrade with a sweet anniversary note and gift, experiencing the magical courtyard as we left/returned the hotel, the incredible location, and the part that touched me the most; the gentleman who wrangled our suitcases to the lobby also ran out to help our taxi driver load them when he didn’t have to. This is an incredible hotel.

Had a fantastic stay at the hotel during this peak season. It was easily accessible, the staff was friendly and room was very very spacious and comfortable. Only gripe?? Maybe a little more English channels 😆 other than that, it had been most enjoyable making the visits to the Christmas markets even more enjoyable.
