Often front desk was empty and employees were hiding in office. Too busy to come out or interact with clients. We often saw phone being hung up at front reception desk while staff were waiting on others. Staff not willing to go the extra mile and smile or interact with guests. Retrain them properly please! Huge disappointment! We usually use Mercure in other cities/countries and always enjoyed our stay. Young woman with long brown hair especially needs some manners on how to act and treat guests staying in hotel. We have pictures at different times when front desk was not occupied and can send if you’d like. So sad to give poor review but accommodation and breakfast were fine. You should see how different Sofitel next door is….a superb place.

The hotel is a frustrating mixture of things that are very good (the comfortable bed, the breakfast) and not very good at all (the extremely stark and uncomfortable room, the charmless loungebar area). The lift was extremely noisy, and as my room was close to it, I had to use earplugs to be able to sleep.
