Unfortunately, our check-in experience at the Novotel Strasbourg was very disappointing. The staff member at the Gold counter was arrogant and dismissive when we asked if this was the correct check-in area for Gold members, and there was no acknowledgment of our Gold status at any point. The room itself was also disappointing and not well cleaned, especially the toilet, which had an unpleasant smell. Having stayed at three different Accor hotels during this trip, this was by far the worst experience. Strasbourg is meant to be the Christmas capital, yet the hotel did not reflect this atmosphere at all. We did not feel welcomed, which is not the level of service we expect from Accor, especially as loyal Gold members.

Welcoming, courtesy, and recognition of our loyal members, and in particular our Gold status guests, are essential priorities for our establishment. We deeply regret that your experience at the check-in counter did not meet your expectations or conform to the values of the Accor brand, which are usually recognized and appreciated by our guests. We are also sorry that the welcome gift reserved for Gold members, given to you upon your arrival, did not convey our appreciation for your loyalty. Furthermore, we regret that the special attention given to your room, including special decorations for your wedding anniversary, did not meet your expectations or contribute to making your stay more enjoyable. We sincerely apologize for the cleanliness of the room, particularly the bathroom facilities. This situation is unacceptable and has been immediately brought to the attention of the relevant teams so that corrective measures can be put in place. We are truly sorry that you did not feel properly welcomed, especially during a festive period when Strasbourg strives to be warm and friendly. Your loyalty to the Accor group deserves exemplary attention, and we regret that we were unable to offer you the experience you were entitled to expect. The hotel is very well located at the heart of Strasbourg, easy access to all the attractions. However, it looks like the hotel needs some renovation. The carpet, for instance, was very dirty. Parking can be tricky if you can’t take a spot on Level One (hotel spots). Parking on Level 2 means carrying bags through some stairs.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the central location of our hotel, in the heart of Strasbourg and close to the main tourist attractions. Regarding parking, we would like to point out that the car park is a public car park and that we do not have any reserved spaces. The hotel has direct access from level -1; however, when this level is full, it is necessary to park on level -2, from which the hotel can be accessed via stairs, without direct access. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and understand that this can be difficult, especially with luggage. Regarding the condition of the rooms, and more specifically the carpets, we regret that they did not meet your expectations. We would like to assure you that they are shampooed after each departure, but unfortunately some old stains may not disappear despite our cleaning procedures. Renovation work is currently underway to improve the comfort and aesthetics of our rooms.
