Room is old, worst was the noisy room. We couldn’t sleep due to heavy noise from a disco club nearby.

So many things to list on this stay that went wrong; firstly BOTH the rooms that we booked weren’t how we booked online and asked for with two separate beds (we booked this type of room for a reason) and did not get it even though we called beforehand and was assured it was all sorted. We arrived and the staff repeatedly just said they could not do anything so I had to take matters into my own hands just to sleep properly. Bed sheets had yellow stain (absolutely disgusting) I got stuck in the lift for over 5 minutes and doors did not open! Very unsafe and caused me serious claustrophobia and trauma. Still waiting to hear back what they’ll do to recompense such a terrible night. Stayed at Novotel and Accor hotels across the world - this has definitely been the worst ever and most sad thing is I have a future booking at this hotel and it’s non refundable. You know it’s sad when your whole family don’t look forward to staying in this hotel but can’t cancel.

The location is perfect for a stay in Strasbourg - and easy to access by car when using the parking facilities. The hotel is about 5 minutes' walk from the main Place Kleber, on a riverside location. We chose an "executive room", which was spacious, on a high floor, and with a comfortable bed. We wish we'd known that the odd-numbered rooms on the 8th floor are the ones with a view of the city though! We had an even-numbered room, and were a little disappointed with the view from the back of the building. Nespresso machine in the room was great, plus a kettle. But no milk was supplied, and all tea varieties were flavoured, rather than a basic black tea, which we would have preferred. Staff were generally courteous, and all spoke excellent English.

Due to our very central location, the surrounding streets can be particularly lively at night, and we often favour this side to ensure our guests get the best possible rest. We have also taken note of your comments regarding the selection of teas and the lack of milk in the room. This room wasn't really up to Novotel standards, for me. The room itself was very dark, with industrial-looking textured walls and a lot of dark grey elements, very low ceiling, and it looked out onto the HVAC outlet of the shopping mall below, which was quite loud if you opened the windows (and just generally not a very nice view), felt more like a bunker than a hotel room. There was also no desk, contrary to what was promised in the room description, and staff was very unhelpful in getting me at least a chair so I could do some work, as I was on a business trip. I ended up having to sit on the bed to work. The hotel lobby and bar do look quite nice, and the room was clean and bathroom was quite nice (but also quite dark), but for the price I paid, you're much better of at the Ibis next door, for instance.

However, we are delighted to hear that you appreciated the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom and the hotel’s communal areas, particularly the lobby and the bar. We are, however, sincerely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Regarding the layout of our rooms, we would like to clarify that not all our Classic rooms feature a desk as such. To ensure a proper desk is provided, it is necessary to request one prior to booking. Without this specification, the room may be equipped with a height-adjustable coffee table placed in front of the sofa, which serves as an alternative workspace. Had the hotel not been fully booked during your stay, we would, of course, have offered you a room change so that you could have a room equipped with a desk. It is precisely for this reason that we recommend our guests inform us of their specific requirements before arrival, so that we can best organise room allocation according to individual requests. We have also taken note of your comment regarding the assistance provided by our team. We will remind our staff to ensure that a more appropriate solution is offered in such situations. Finally, regarding the décor and atmosphere of the room, this is in line with the Novotel brand guidelines, as set by the Accor Group. We are nevertheless sorry that this style was not to your liking.
