5 star hotel with 2-3 star room (king suite 12th floor). I was in two minds about whether I should write a review but establishments can't make changes if guests don't speak up Foyer has a lovely colonial looks and feel to it which is what my partner had seen on his last trip to Cairns when a tour bus dropped off guests and is what made him want to stay there..... Was very disappointed when we entered our room from the dated decor to the loud air con, which didn't work every well. Mold in the wardrobe, stained bath mat in the bathroom, rotten wood panel from water damage, shower head kept sliding down and when you turned it off it would fall and hit you, (but I will add that this was fixed when we advised the front desk staff) dust on the tissue box (yes I know small issue but we are talking about a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices and the room had been occupied the night before so no excuses). Ripped carpet to the entrance of the elevators on the 12th floor, a trip hazard for women in heels !! paper thin walls, we could hear the man in the next room eating his dinner. The one morning we wanted to sleep in we were awoken by room service cleaning two (2) rooms down the hall banging and crashing at 7am ......Cairns was lovely and look forward to returning next year but not to the Pullman. Will research the Accor family of hotels before booking. What makes this hotel is the staff that we had come in contact with (front desk and Manny (bar staff) well done to them.

We really enjoyed every moment of our stay. The room was spacious, staff was helpful and friendly. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant in the lobby and food was really good. So we will definitely get back to this place.

Checked in by well mannered and professional young man. Hotel is a little dated. Air con is loud and blows hard on the bed, can’t turn the aircon off or reduce the air flow. Dinner was over priced, small bit of meat and sausage with potato for $48

Very pleasant hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. We stayed before and after 5 nights on Fitzroy Island. Nice central position and close to the Marina, walking distance. Good room service. Weather was perfect, good time of the year to visit.

After driving from Mackay to Townsville and then flying late into cairns from Townsville I couldn’t face another few hours drive north. So at last minute I booked here. I knew it had a wonderful restaurant and as an accor plus member I was assured a comfy room. The restaurant staff were so lovely and the food delicious. It was so good I’m returning Thursday for the night and hope to receive the same fantastic service again.

Was a wonderful stay. Two minor points are that the room didn't have heating in winter, which for an 89 year old was needed, and secondly that the MDF furnishings were starting to deteriorate. However neither of these things would stop us from staying again.

Central location, but rooms are tired

Hotel is central to the Cairns esplanade, close to places to eat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Wonderful entrance/lobby. However, the rooms are tired and dated, with for example the laminate on the furniture peeling, and aircon vents dusty.

Old Looking

The whole room was very old looking, scratched desk, old shower curtain and a half empty water bottle in the fridge left behind by housekeeping. Moreover there was only one coffee capsule for the coffee machine available for two people- other one was decaf. Coffee and tea was stored in zip bags. Now I understand it's pandemic but surely there is a more better looking solution to that.
