This hotel has been my go to hotel for many years travelling regularly to Cairns. I have to say the experience this time the experience was extremely odd. Especially as I was forced to stay in a nearby hotel the week before so had that comparision. I arrived, and reception experience was lovely. I went to my room on the top floor and discovered that I had a step in bath shower, which i find very difficult. Tje view however was absolutely beautiful. I rang reception and was eventually advised that the only other room available was a 'superior' room which would usually be more expensive as it has been renovated, however they were happy to waiver the cost on this occasion. My knowledge was that the renovations occurred years ago. The room appeared much the same, apart from a walk in shower. Then the fun started, it was very noisy being on the fourth floor - loud music was coming from nearby venue up until after 10pm. This noise discomfort was amplified by the noisy family next door, with a crying child. On the first night, having started the day at 4am, and needing an early start the next morning, this was dreadful. One night i could tolerate, but three nights was terrible. I was wondering how it could be called a 'superior' room, even when the top floor was lovely apart from the bath shower. I know it is trhe festive season, but some are still working hard. Comparing to the other hotel the room provided a small glass bottle of water only on the first day, wheras the other hotel added two 500ml plastic bottles each day which was fantastic in hot weather. I also had full view of the harbour, and no noise - and yes it was cheaper!

Very nice room. It was comfortable and a good size. We did not like the shower door (or lack thereof). Water would come out of the shower and make a mess on the bathroom floor. Not a real great concept.

Great location, close to restaurants and esplanade. Everything was easy and nice staff. Has a gym and other facilities, which are great. Nice place to stay.
