I actually love(d) the Sofitel brand. It's been one of my fave hotel chains. But this one was a slight disappointment. I mean, the rooms were large and clean, but it lacked the Sofitel luster I used to know. The turn down service was haphazard. On our last night, they didn't even bother to turn down the beds or place water in the room. And the housekeeping saw us come out of our room at 6pm!!! On the first day, the lotion (yes, pasted on the wall) was empty. I informed the housekeeping to kindly fill it up because as all refillable bottles go, the pumps refuse to pump when it reaches less than 20% of the total volume. While breakfast was okay (yeah, not that great), it was a breakfast. There are very few restaurants within the hotel. Which is super disappointing because the other restaurants and the mall is quite a walk (15 mins through a connecting walkway - which was good there was a connecting walkway). The hotel looked sad and there was no vibrant spirit as you entered (or ate). It was just a place to sleep in. The redeeming value was the Spa at the hotel. Great spa service and great massage from MaryAnn and Joseph. Incidentally, a shout out to the front manager May for the recommendations. Overall, I'd most likely choose a different hotel in my next stop in Dubai.

This was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had. I paid for a two-night stay with breakfast INCLUDED. On the first day, breakfast was allowed without any issue. On the second day, I was suddenly told breakfast was not included. How does the same booking change overnight? This is not a small mistake — this is basic reservation management. A hotel charging premium rates should at least be able to read and honor a confirmed booking. Being stopped and questioned for something already paid for is embarrassing and unprofessional. The lack of coordination between staff shows serious internal mismanagement. For a hotel that claims to offer high standards, this was extremely disappointing. Definitely not the level of service expected, and certainly not worth the price.
