Management doesn’t care about what the customers say. While the staff makes an attempt, but the problem really is management. One of the worst experiences in Accor hotels and I have been part of explorer plus journey.

This was my second stay at Movenpick. My first stay was great, so I was happy to return and recommended my colleague to stay there too. Unfortunately, this stay was quite disappointing due to one experience with a reception staff member. I had explicitly indicated in my booking for a non-connecting room. However, I was given one upon check-in and had to call to request a change. When I followed up at reception later that evening, I was told that my room category only had connecting rooms. I explained I had booked the same category in my previous stay and it wasn't a connecting room. What I found particularly disappointing was the attitude and how the staff handled it. She asked me for the room number from my previous stay, which I obviously could not remember, instead of checking the booking history in the system herself. She told me that I had been given the next room category previously. She then offered to upgrade me for free, but did so in a visibly unhappy manner, telling me that next time I should book the next category, without explaining what that category was. I was told the new key would be sent to my room, but after waiting and receiving nothing, I eventually came back down myself since I was tired. There was no apology or explanation for the delay, and the interaction remained very cold. My concern is less about the room change and more about how the situation was handled. If a non-connecting room was not available in my booked category, I would have expected this to be communicated upfront, especially since I had specifically stated this in my booking. To be fair, the other staff were polite, friendly and helpful. I appreciate the upgrade but unfortunately, this particular interaction left a very negative impression and was very different from my experience during my first stay.

Although the staff were super helpful, friendly and welcoming our overall experience with the Hotel was very disappointing. As it was an apartment there was no token milk, or washing powder to get us started at least. No kitchen supplies to wash dishes. The coffee machine leaked and stopped working and had to be replaced. The Hotel was alcohol free which was only communicated to us on the night of our arrival. Nothing is shown on the website or app about it being a dry Hotel. So our welcome drinks were only fruit juice. If we had known this we would've booked another hotel with Accor. This certainly detracted from our experience as we had to elsewhere to dine and enjoy a wine with our meal. The WiFi was intermittent at times and the TV kept stopping and reloading.

Regarding the apartment amenities, fresh milk is available upon request, and our team would have been happy to assist with this during your stay. For safety and hygiene reasons, we do not provide dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent as standard amenities in the apartments. However, our team remains available to assist guests with any additional requirements wherever possible. We also sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the coffee machine malfunction and the intermittent Wi-Fi and television service. We understand how frustrating it can be when these facilities do not perform as expected, and we appreciate your patience while our team attended to the coffee machine replacement. We regret that the hotel's alcohol-free policy was not communicated clearly enough prior to your arrival. We understand that this may have affected your dining plans and overall experience, and we will take your feedback into consideration as we continue to improve how we communicate our hotel facilities and policies to our guests. With regard to the pool area, we appreciate your observation regarding the limited direct sunlight due to the surrounding high-rise buildings. While this is influenced by the hotel's location and surrounding development, we understand how important poolside conditions can be to our guests. Lovely hotel, extremely well appointed. It has an excellent pool, great gym, a sauna & spa. A restaurant & cafe onsite. 1 min walk to Dubai Mall. Close to the Burj Khalifa & The Fountain show.
