Absolutely fantastic customer service! My only concern was that the rooms look like they could use a refresh. There were some stains on the pillowcase and bathroom walls but everything else looked clean.

If you're working on the base, the Mercure Yokosuka is hard to beat for location. It's right by the train station, which makes getting there from the Tokyo airports very easy, especially when you're carrying bags in the August heat. It's also just a short walk to the base. The staff was excellent throughout my stay, and both the restaurant and breakfast were great. The hotel itself is a little older, but they've done a good job maintaining it and everything was clean and comfortable. My only minor complaint was the A/C. It worked fine, but I wish it had blown a little stronger. That said, I stayed in August, so it was about as hot and humid as it gets. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again, particularly if I were coming back to Yokosuka for work on base.

The room was extremely hot, even though I turned the air conditioner up to the highest setting. Unfortunately, it didn’t cool the room at all, which made my stay quite uncomfortable

Everyone was amazing, from the check in to the daily breakfast, to the check out. Can’t say there was anyone who wasn’t helpful and nice. All the staff was such a pleasure to be around. Room was fantastic and clean. I don’t normally look for daily cleaning service but they were precise, quick, and thorough. Truly a great place to stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Although the smoking area is tucked away in a corner, it’s still indoors and right next to the laundry room. The smoking area should be placed outside period. The smell of smoke permeates the entire building and it’s terrible. Also, the rooms can use an upgrade as far as electrical outlets are concerned. There should be outlets near the headboard next to the bed.
