I’ve experienced a lot of great things in my life, including hotels and have traveled the world, and this is the best experience of my life by far. The staff was exceptional and offered a very personalized relationship and went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we wanted. Not just needed. The food and all the restaurants is exceptional and offers a wide variety of options at all times I personally loved a complementary breakfast every morning and also loved driftwood on the top floor and then going over to off the record for an after dinner lounge and vinyl vibe incredibly creative and cool. I couldn’t write this review without mentioning the view. The view from this hotel through every window is remarkable. We had a few on the Tokyo Tower side that was so beautiful and yes, I will use that word once again, exceptional! From the beginning to the end of our stay from our entrance to our exit. The staff always looked you in the eye with a big smile on their face and welcomed you every single time I think for me this was one of the best parts. Is the staff.
One last thing that I must say is the style of this Hotel and the design of every part of it, including the alarm clocks to the slippers to the Nespresso machine to the bed and everything else was of the highest quality and wonderful. Thank you very much for a wonderful week in Tokyo at the Fairmont Tokyo! We will be back.

From check-in to check-out, the team at Fairmont Tokyo went above and beyond. Every request we made was handled promptly and graciously, and the attention to detail was outstanding across the board — from the warm, efficient reception staff to a housekeeping team that anticipated our needs before we even asked. Overall the fairmont is incredible. The only slight downside is the location next to train tracks for the noise and not much walkable, but the view and the property are worth it.

Superb hard product and service..my comparison is with The Palace Hotel ( which has enormous local cred and foot traffic). the district is developing and I hope the Fairmont benefits, as it is so well done. Biggest criticism is the breakfast…very limited buffet options ( “cereal”must include muesli and yoghurt options) and the Asian options such as dumplings were tepid.

We particularly enjoyed our dinner at DRIFTWOOD. The 5-course dinner was excellent, and the service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. When we arrived, we were seated at a sofa table as all the window tables were occupied, which was perfectly fine with us.
During our second course, a window table became available. Without us making any request, the staff noticed this and proactively came over to ask whether we would like to move to the window table. We really appreciated this thoughtful gesture, as it showed genuine attention to our dining experience without us having to ask.
At the end of the dinner, the Assistant Manager also came over personally to ask how we had enjoyed the meal and our overall dining experience. This added another very nice personal touch and made us feel that the team genuinely cared about their guests.
We were also very happy with our stay overall, including the beautiful Tokyo Tower view from our room, breakfast and the warm and attentive service throughout the hotel. Fairmont Tokyo provided a very relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we would be very happy to return.

My Overall Stay & Heartfelt Thanks to the Team
Fairmont Tokyo presents exceptional physical infrastructure and stunning views of Tokyo Tower. As a solo traveller, I particularly value the team’s ability to offer warm, attentive hospitality whilst respecting personal boundaries.
I would like to extend special recognition to the following team members who made my stay memorable:
Cem: Welcomed me warmly upon arrival and provided a thorough, professional hotel orientation. He possesses a genuine talent for putting people at ease, and his reassuring warmth makes guests feel immediately comfortable, even in an unfamiliar environment. He is a true gem in the hospitality business.
Keziah: Demonstrated remarkable passion and culinary knowledge, offering excellent guidance on the avocado toast and details regarding their refined recipe.
Elvara: Proactively secured a window table for my breakfast, kindly keeping me updated whilst I decided to wait in my room on the same floor until it became available.
Cheery: Patiently provided clear, helpful walking directions to nearby Shiba Park. Furthermore, just as I was departing, she thoughtfully rushed to fetch a bottle of chilled water for me to take along, which proved immensely helpful during my walk. Her proactive and attentive demeanour is exactly what one expects in an Executive Lounge; she is highly suited for Gold Lounge service, despite currently being stationed in the 35th-floor lobby.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Erica and Masaki in the Gold Lounge dining area, whose English fluency and warm friendliness made every interaction a true pleasure. My appreciation also extends to the Laundry and In-Room Dining teams for their excellent and genuine service throughout my stay.
Gold Lounge Entrance & Privacy Concerns
Whilst the property shows great promise, the current setup at the Gold Lounge lacks a proper administrative desk and dedicated reception staff, which creates genuine privacy and service issues.
Conducting my check-out at a small standing table in the cramped entrance meant a waiting guest standing immediately alongside could easily view my private documents and bill details. In fact, during my own check-out, the lack of privacy was noticeable enough that I had to discreetly ask Elvara, who was assisting me, to help safeguard my confidential paperwork. Additionally, having team members juggle administrative duties alongside F&B service can naturally create operational bottlenecks during busier hours. On a few occasions when I visited the Gold Lounge, the small standing desk was left unattended while staff were inside assisting guests. Leaving an open workstation unstaffed—with active laptops, operational supplies, and guest documents visible in a public area—may inadvertently present privacy and security concerns that I kindly encourage management to review.
Having a proper executive desk would resolve this completely. It would allow check-ins to be comfortably handled inside with the beautiful view, whilst ensuring check-outs are processed securely with adequate space for private documents, entirely free from the crowding of other guests.
Incident on 13 September (35th Floor Lobby)
Due to the lack of a functional administrative desk in the Gold Lounge, I visited the main lobby on the 35th floor on 13 September to ask for directions to Shiba Park. Ms Cheery assisted me with exceptional patience, moving over to a large work desk in the lobby where two staff members in green uniforms were seated with laptops.
After visiting the park, I returned to the 35th floor to express my gratitude to Ms Cheery. As she was away from the front desk, I approached one of the seated Japanese female colleagues—who was wearing thick-rimmed glasses and was of a slightly fuller build—to pass along my thanks. Regrettably, her response was unexpectedly defensive and dismissive. She firmly insisted that she was not the person who helped me, stating that I had mistaken her identity, and spent nearly three minutes repeatedly reiterating her irritation as if my courtesy was an unwanted disruption.
Operational Observations & Suggestions
Reflecting on this experience as a guest, a few observations came to mind that might be worth sharing:
Team Cohesion: A guest passing along feedback for a colleague should ideally be received with standard professional courtesy. Declining to convey a simple message of thanks because one was not personally involved inadvertently reflects a lack of a team-first mindset.
Guest Communication: Expressing personal frustration and defensiveness directly to a guest falls below the service standards expected of a luxury establishment.
Spatial Allocation: There is a noticeable contradiction in how space is utilised. A large, functional work desk on the 35th floor is occupied by staff who appear reluctant to engage with guests, whilst the Gold Lounge—a high-traffic area requiring substantial administrative support—is constrained to an inadequate standing desk.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay, largely thanks to the wonderfully passionate team. I share these observations simply as a guest who cares and hopes this perspective might be helpful. Thank you for the warm hospitality, and I look forward to staying with you again on my next visit to Tokyo.

After I checked in, I waited for about 1 hour for my luggages to be delivered to my room, and I need to take the medicine....
Then I did not like the system which I had to pay so much deposit in advance, and was asked to pay up when my expense in your hotel exceeded the deposit. As if I was gonna run away without paying? You make me feel like you treated your guests like thieves.
Also the breakfast is terrible, the chef obvious had no clue what actual shu-mai and wonton are in authentic Chinese cuisine, they are not bouncy upon chewing at all. I see that you have some Chinese staff at the hotel, maybe you should ask their advices.
Also during breakfast in one morning, I specifically asked to have my seat to be away from other table which have children. However soon after I had seated, the staff lead a family with 2 kids right next to me. What was this all about?
Lastly, one taxi driver called by the lobby charged me 700 yen surcharge, looks like they rip off foreign customers, I think you should be more careful with who you call.
Other than that, the teppanyaki and the grill restaurants are the most delicious that I had ever tasted, I definitely will go back for the foods, but not for the staying.

Fairmont Tokyo has amazing facilities and great views, and all staff had provided excellent services. It was definitely one of the highlights of our anniversary trip in Japan. The only small issue is the location - there are not many stuff around the hotel to explore and taxi is pretty much the only method to get to and from the hotel. During our stay, there were a few times when the taxi drivers could not find the entrance to the hotel and we had to ask the concierge to look for the taxi for us. Maybe the hotel should find a way to eliminate this kind of situation in the future by, for example, setting up a clearer signage so taxi drivers can easily locate the main entrance

I had a great time at the Fairmont Tokyo. It is a beautiful hotel that is in close proximity to the train station. I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to the Bay view room and it was gorgeous at night. Everyone I came in contact with was incredibly courteous and professional. Would recommend!

For my son’s 10th birthday, we planned a trip to Tokyo to watch baseball and visit Disneyland/Harry Potter, and ended up staying at Fairmont Tokyo.
As soon as I got out of the pickup vehicle, dragging my tired body, the smile of the person who welcomed me lifted my spirits, and the kindness shown at check-in made me feel even better.
Opening the window and seeing the view of Tokyo Tower and Odaiba, wow~ I kept exclaiming in amazement, and the postcard the hotel staff wrote for my son’s birthday is still neatly placed on his desk.
We are so grateful to Fairmont Tokyo for making it possible to celebrate our unforgettable son’s 10th birthday. It was a trip that left me impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the staff at check-in and the restaurant.
The breakfast was just right for a healthy meal, and the pool also had excellent water quality and was very well maintained
It’s close to Hamamatsucho Station (a 6-minute walk), and if you go out to the pedestrian deck on the second floor, you can reach the station with little to no rain. However, at the end, my legs hurt so much that I mainly used a taxi to get to the main station. It took about 10 minutes by car to Ginza, and other pickups like Uber were assigned immediately as well.
However, the kids didn’t have bathrobes, slippers, or pajamas prepared, so we requested them in the morning, but it was a bit late, and we ended up going to the pool wearing adult bathrobes, which also became a memorable experience.
Also, the other restaurant staff were generally kind as well, but I won’t name any of them out of respect. One female staff member seemed very busy and spoke in a somewhat fast manner, so it was a little hard to understand.
At checkout, I saw Serene, the hotel mascot, and left after being warmly greeted by the staff, and I promised myself that I would definitely come back for my next trip to Tokyo.
Overall, it was a very happy trip, and I am so grateful that you took the time to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday.
