While there were a few issues related to parcel deliveries and logistics during my stay, I truly appreciated the way the team handled the situation with care and professionalism overall. That said, I was somewhat disappointed by the inconsistency regarding the Accor membership benefits. Despite being an Accor Gold member, the restaurant discount was not applied correctly, and I found myself having to reconfirm my membership status several times before it was acknowledged. I am unsure whether the restaurant team may not have been fully informed about the membership privileges, but this aspect did cause some inconvenience. In addition, there were moments when communication in English was slightly challenging. Nonetheless, I sincerely appreciate the efforts and hospitality shown throughout my stay.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very spacious, modern and luxurious. The service however far exceeded this. It was better than top end ryokans we had stayed at previously. Turn down service was personalised and thoughtful. The only area that we would recommend improvement on would be the quality of the ice bucket. Whilst visually impressive, the seal on the lid was poor such that it was difficult to close fully. As such, ice would quickly melt. In other hotels, we have had ice last for hours however during our stay, we had to request ice buckets on multiple occassions as the ice wouldn't last beyond the hour. It is a minor tweak but one that would improvement guest experience.

My stay at Fairmont Tokyo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, I genuinely felt like royalty. Every detail of the experience reflected care, refinement, and a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find. The hotel itself is stunning — brand new, impeccably clean, modern, elegant, and thoughtfully designed in every respect. The attention to detail throughout the property is remarkable, from the beautifully curated interiors to the calm, luxurious atmosphere that makes you immediately feel at ease. The elevated views over Tokyo only add to the experience. The property officially opened in July 2025 as Fairmont’s first hotel in Japan, and it already feels iconic. What truly made the stay unforgettable, however, was the people. Jane at the front desk was absolutely fabulous — warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. Housekeeping maintained the room flawlessly each day, always with incredible care and precision. The bell staff were consistently courteous, welcoming, and eager to assist. A very special thank you as well to Elaine del Rosario from in-room dining, who went above and beyond throughout my stay. No request ever felt too small or too ridiculous — every need was met with kindness, efficiency, and grace. That level of personalized service is what transforms a beautiful hotel into a truly memorable experience. The Fairmont Tokyo has mastered the balance between modern luxury and heartfelt hospitality. I left feeling genuinely cared for, refreshed, and already looking forward to returning.

Before getting into the broader feedback, I wanted to highlight one issue during checkout. We checked out at 1pm and had a 2pm spa booking for two. We were told we could not access the pool after checkout, only the change rooms and onsen. This was surprising given the wellness facilities are interconnected, we were still on-site guests, and had a confirmed spa booking shortly after. We were only hoping to use the pool briefly (around 30 minutes), so this felt like a missed opportunity to enhance the guest experience—particularly for guests continuing to spend within the hotel. This is an area worth reconsidering. More generally, we had a very enjoyable stay. The location is in a quieter part of the city, which suited us well at the end of our trip, while still being well connected to transport. The wellness facilities are truly world-class—arguably the best hotel gym, pool, spa, and change room facilities I’ve experienced. The focus on wellness over leisure is clear and understandable (e.g., no food or drink service by the pool), though it’s worth noting for guests expecting a more traditional luxury pool experience. The gym was excellent overall, though adding a few heavier dumbbells, a chest press or rowing machine, and possibly an additional treadmill would make it even better. Dining across the hotel was a highlight. We experienced breakfast, Kiln & Tonic for lunch, Driftwood for dinner (both the standard and bar bites menus), and the Off Record bar. Driftwood stood out the most—the quality of food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional. While the main menu is premium-priced, it aligns with expectations for a property of this calibre. The bar bites menu was also excellent and offered a great casual option in a beautiful setting. Off Record was a fun and unique experience, though waiving the music cover charge for hotel guests—or incorporating it into drink pricing—would feel more guest-friendly. Overall, the hotel is stunning, with beautiful design, spacious rooms, and fantastic views. Service throughout was impeccable—consistently polite, warm, and helpful. While pricing is generally in line with luxury positioning, small touches (e.g., ¥1700 for an iced latte compared to typical market rates) stood out.
