Our stay was good, the location of the hotel is central. The facilites are old, our aircon and hot water did not work to its full capacity and filter water ran regularly. Not sure about the quality of the filtered water either as on many occasions it was dirty in our bottles. The staff, amazing and friendly which made all the differen e.

I really enjoyed staying in the suite room and being able to watch fireworks from the windows in the comfort of the hotel room. Glad that I was offered an upgrade to the suite for a reasonable price. Looking forward to stay in Novotel Jakarta Gajah Mada again.

It was a good stay, the room was comfortable and got upgraded to premier room and got late check out up to 4pm. However the only lacking was service. It was 4pm when we arrived. There was only 1 guy but then he left and switched with a lady. Front desk staff were not friendly and did not greeted properly. We proceeded to check in but the room was still not available yet. We were sent to the lounge for a "complementary" drink while we wait for the room to be ready. Fine i guess, then we proceeded to the lounge and there was only 1 staff and also wasn't friendly and didn't greet us warmly. They had a kind of look in their faces as if they weren't ready to serve. But we were offered beer so it was okay. The lounge was also very hot and the aircon was not on. There were other few customers and also were sent to the lounge to wait for their rooms to be ready. Then my friend asked the staff if we could enjoy the food. The staff immediately rebuked that it was only for platinum members. She did not confirm with us if we were. My friend was a little annoyed then, plus the hot environment just makes us even hotter. The food also wasn't that tasty. Then we decided to move down to the lobby. It was 5pm and the room was not even ready yet? After a while we saw the front desk staff went up to the lounge. My friend thought she was looking for us. I thought maybe it was for another group of people. Then she came down and went back to her station. After 10 minutes of waiting, i asked the lady if our room was ready yet. Then she confirmed if it was me and she said she went up to the lounge but couldn't find us. We were literally sitting down on the sofa in front of her and she didn't notice us at all? Didn't even approach us. I was speechless. She couldn't even remember our faces and how are we to perceive the importance of platinum members in their eyes? It was rather disappointing. Also, i gave my parking ticket to the lady and she said it can be used for free parking. But when i was about to leave the hotel the next day after our stay, the parking staff said i needed to stamp the parking ticket. I thought the lady said everything was okay? I had to wait and my friend had to go to the lobby again to get the stamp. Very bad. Luckily there was nobody behind us else we would be hogging up the exit. The TV. It was difficult to deal with. We had a hard time troubleshooting our TV which took us a while. We had to use our own mobile hotspot to download and connect to Netflix. Something is wrong with the wifi connection to the TV even though it was connected it still couldn't budge. If the hotel couldn't keep up with changes might as well not switch to a smart TV as it defeats the purpose of being smart. Breakfast staff were friendly though and their service was good. The food was also not too bad. Gym and pool also had many people and they provided some props for the pool which was great i thought. Gym equipment were still functional and kept which was great. Back to the front desk staff during our check out. It was a different lady. She didn't even greeted us and said nothing. Just for us to make sure we had all our belongings. Is the hotel culture for the front desk staff to be not service oriented and annoying? Please train your staff better to deal with customers. Even Ibis hotel staff are much more pleasant to deal with, and cheaper stay as well. I'll think twice before going to Novotel Gajah Mada in the future. Lastly, the lift was also kind of scary and needs to be serviced maybe as it feels as if it wasn't stable. Some other customers from other countries even said the same thing.
