It’s ok for the price but at check in we were provided with no information apart from here is your key and there is the lift, it’s very noisy and it was far from clean on arrival, dust everywhere. Apart from that it’s a decent room to use as a base. I expected more. No kettle in the room too, basics lacking.

We stayed at ibis München City West for 4 nights. Overall, the location is very convenient, but there are a few areas that really need improvement, especially cleanliness and after-hours support. The biggest issue for us was cleanliness. The room felt a bit dusty in some areas, and the bathroom had visible rust buildup. It wasn’t terrible, but for a hotel stay, this is something that should be addressed more carefully. Another downside is the lack of housekeeping availability outside business hours. If you need extra towels, tissues, or assistance late in the day, there’s no housekeeping staff to help. During our stay, we accidentally spilled water on the bed and asked if the sheets could be replaced. We were told housekeeping wasn’t available, so instead they transferred us to another room. To be fair, they didn’t ask for the keycard back immediately, which was a nice and thoughtful gesture. We also had an issue with the room telephone during the first one to two nights. The phone would ring, but no one ever answered at reception. My partner even went down to the lobby while I called from the room to check, and nothing was ringing there. We were later told there was an issue with the reception phone system, which oddly only seemed to happen over the weekend, everything worked fine once weekdays started. On a positive note, the location is very convenient. The hotel is within a short walking distance to major public transportation options like trams, buses, and trains, which made getting around Munich easy. Overall, it’s an okay stay for the price and location, but improvements in cleanliness and staffing availability would make a big difference.
