Novotel Dubai Al Barsha Hotel 4 stars

This is a draft of my review: The hotel is overall very clean and well kept with friendly staff who are always polite and eager to please with a smile. It is well located off the main highway and near shops and restaurants close to Mall of the Emirates, a Metro station and a few minutes away from the Dubai Marina area. Small nagging maintenance problem like toilets that don’t flush, drains that are blocked, phones that don’t work, adjustable lamp shades that don’t stay in place, bathroom scale batteries that need changing etc Once a problem is reported staff are kind and eager to help but unfortunately this does not translate to actions and need several reminders to get things fixed. The housekeeping staff were helpful and efficient but unfortunately not consistent. For example: One day they would leave one hand and one small bath towel and the next they would leave two hand towels one floor towel and two large bath towels. The towels and bed sheets are sometimes frayed and worn but clean and maybe the hotel could consider donating worn ones and replacing them to improve guest impression TV in the rooms were acceptable but the screens too small, dated and the remotes not responsive. Channel selection was good and the basics were there including news, music and movies. The Internet was good except when my kids were home schooling, it appears to have slowed down and I could not attend my online work meetings and had to leave the room and work elsewhere. The bathrooms are spacious and with a simple selection of amenities . Shower pressure could be improved although temperature is great with super hot water for baths and cold water when needed. The all day dining restaurant staff are friendly but besides the supervisor, they are too automatic only focused on the service at the counters rarely looking if the guests need any help at the tables. Quality of the breakfast is acceptable but could be improved in terms of choices and quality as nothing stands out except the eggs and even though breakfast was included I could only get myself to eat it a few times. Room service and the coffee shop food was much better in terms of tastes and quality. The coffee shop needs an upgrade to become more warm and inviting as it feels orphaned from the hotel with no personality of itself. Bubbles bar is also not inviting and, while it was only open briefly, I only took a quick look inside once and didn’t feel like staying or ever stepping in again even when I wanted a drink. All service staff are unaware of the guest room status and are reluctant to let you charge even room service to the room! Swiss Butter food outlet, leased from the hotel, was excellent and I enjoyed going there very much. The Gym was very good and is well equipped and I enjoyed using it. It would have been even better if it was open 24 hours like in many other hotels to allow its use during less congested hours and for guests who prefer to work out early or late.

It was good the Only concern was a smell of cigarette coming to the room.

Our family vacation was perfect from the moment we arrived until we departed & honestly we didn't want to leave. Robin ( reservations) assisted us with hotel reservations, Ayesha welcomed us for checkin , very smooth process with early checkin at 13:30.we booked a junior suite & were very kindly upgraded to executive suite as we wanted to be facing Sheikh Zayed highway. Thank you housekeeping for amazing service of rooms & ALL SAFE covid standards. Breakfast was exceptional & staff are top notch with personalised service for each guest. Harriet & Sumesh welcomed us everyday as my son ( 2 years old ) walked into the restaurant by himself followed by me & wife. We were always greeted with a big smile & heartily service. My son got very attached to Joyti as she served us every day along with colleague Madhu. Breakfast has a variety of options & live cooking station. Mr Amr at the concerige was very kind & helpful  in guiding us for leisure activities & places to visit in dubai. We booked our day desert safari family excursion with Ahmed based in hotel lobby from Desert Gate tours. Amazing experience & definitely a must when visiting dubai. As we departed the hotel after 5 days we were met by Sherry & Ayesha ( she checked us in on arrival) , it had to be Ayesha seeing us off as she welcomed my family to Novotel on our arrival. I have stayed on plenty occasions prior so it was rightly so that I brought my family along to experience the exceptional heart to heart service delivered by staff. Thank you all & apologies if I missed someone to mention, will definitely be coming back for more soon. Keep up the momentum. Love from Khalid' family

Although Covid-19 limited our full experience, we were happy with our stay and the hotel service, including reception, housing keeping, concierge, and doormen. Please keep up the good work. The hotel is well located, making it convenient for travelers.

Location is very good and near to emirates mall , food and beverage is perfect and helpful , breakfast was delicious, Housekeeping was excellent and thanks for your service , bed was very comfortable , spa team was very nice.

Nice atmosphere. Hospitable staff. Room amenities need a review.

I enjoy my stay and the Workers are so good just that the hotel need renovations to change some old things

I am a very old client of the hotel and always prefer this hotel as the staff is really very courteous and helpful and I love the location and hotel itself. Location is excellent and very near Mall of Emirates and Metro station. The commercial area is also very near by . I have only one issue that the lights e very less in the room and lounge area it shd be more brighter. Overall experience is very hood

Everything is excellent over here such as hotel location, front desk, room service and other amenities except some remarks on the food menu and sometimes it is salty with fish dishes. The staff are very friendly, especially Sara and other staff at the banquet is extremely helpful. A great hotel close to the masque, metro station, 24hour supermarket and many restaurants nearby. This is a great place to spend our vacation or a business trip.

It was a Good stay, location was the important one, although Rooms could be better, one thing which i really struggled was sound protection, neighbouring room sounds were easily coming inside, also the partition walls did not makes thing better.

The hotel surrounded with different kind of restaurants, shops, cafes and supermarkets. Mall of the Emirates is 15 min walking distance and the metro station is 3 minutes away by walking. The room sizes are good. The furniture is little bit tired but serves the purpose. The only issue we faced was poor pillows, all the pillows in the hotel are uncomfortable. The front desk employees are super friendly and helpful.

The stay was ok, but the staff needed to be friendlier , the room service needs to be cleaner
