This was our second stay in this hotel and we loved it equally as the first time. Last time, we mentioned a lot of the staff by name in our very complimentary feedback and we know management passed it on to them. There are too many to mention this time, so we’ll single out one individual: Arbaj on the welcome desk made us feel very special on our return visit, recognising we had stayed before, and making some refinements to our booking. I stayed at Novotel Al Barsha during my visit to Dubai. The room was okay, and since I had a busy schedule, I mostly used it to crash at night. However, despite the limited time I spent in the room, there were several issues during my stay that were disappointing and, in some cases, quite concerning. Day 1- Housekeeping Oversight: One day after check-in, I noticed that the housekeeping attendant had left something under the table and forgotten to remove it after cleaning the room (pillow case). While this may seem like a minor oversight, it was certainly not the best first impression. Day 2 – Extremely Poor Room Service: After an exhausting day, we requested some cutlery and crockery from room service. What followed was a frustrating 45-minute wait, despite multiple follow-ups with both room service and the front desk. Eventually, we gave up and ate directly from our takeaway containers. If providing cutlery and crockery was not possible, the least the team could have done was communicate that clearly. A simple, honest response saying NO would have been far better than leaving guests waiting indefinitely with no resolution. Day 4 – A Serious Hygiene Concern: This was by far the worst experience of our stay. After returning to the room following another long and tiring day, we found a red cleaning cloth lying on the ironing board (being a hotelier myself, I know that the cloth is typically used for cleaning toilets and other highly contaminated areas) Finding it in the room was absolutely disgusting and raised serious concerns about the hotel’s housekeeping and hygiene standards. It immediately made me question how thoroughly the room was being cleaned and whether other items, including the glasses and cups we had been using, were being handled hygienically. The cloth was also lying in close proximity to these items, which made the situation even more concerning. We informed the team, a photograph was taken, and the cloth was removed. And that was it. There was no meaningful follow-up or reassurance regarding the hygiene concerns we had raised. We were just told that it was done by the attendant from the previous shift. Additional Maintenance Issues: The problems did not end there. The shower tap was broken and would literally come off into our hands. On top of that, the bathroom drain was in a disgusting condition, with water coming back up through it while we were showering. These are basic maintenance and hygiene issues that should not be occurring at a hotel of this standard. Apart from this, the foot of the dustbin in the washroom was broken and there’s a part which is rusty, as soon as someone puts their leg there and presses on it to throw trash into it, there are high chances that they can be cut by the rusty rod popping out. A Small Positive: The one person who genuinely stood out was Amir at the concierge desk. He was helpful and deserves appreciation for his efforts. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the overall experience. Final Thoughts: I understand that no hotel stay is always going to be perfect, but cleanliness, basic maintenance, and responsive service are non-negotiable, especially for a hotel carrying the Novotel/Accor name. From housekeeping oversights and poor communication to serious hygiene concerns and faulty bathroom fixtures, this stay fell short of expectations in several ways. I have pictures of the same and could share if required. All I can say is: Do better, Novotel Al Barsha. Guests deserve better than this.

We had a wonderful stay at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha. The upgrade to an Executive Room on the 24th floor was a lovely surprise. During the arrival and front desk experience, the check-in was handled by Varun, who displayed a warm and welcoming demeanor despite encountering technical difficulty processing a point redemption via ACDC; however, the registration process was efficiently digitized using an e-registration card, though a comprehensive explanation of hotel facilities was omitted and interaction with Abraj lacked warmth, conveying a dismissive face during guest inquiries. In-room experience reflected high standards of housekeeping with a impeccably clean guest room, and while a proactive courtesy call was received, guest request execution required follow-up as two calls were necessary to receive slippers. Service at Cafe Java stood out exceptionally well, where staff demonstrated strong product knowledge when redeeming the welcome drink voucher and delivered a remarkably well-crafted Piña Colada.

I recently stayed at the Novotel with my two young children and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to get around and explore the area. One of the highlights was the swimming pool, which was clean, well maintained, and enjoyable for both adults and children. The staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. In particular, the housekeeping team was very efficient and ensured our room was well looked after. Our room was spacious and provided plenty of space for a family, which we appreciated. Although some aspects of the room felt a little dated, and the bathroom was quite compact, these were areas that could benefit from some refurbishment to better match the standard of the hotel's other facilities. Overall, the hotel offers a good location, enjoyable amenities, and welcoming service. With some updates to the rooms, it could provide an even better guest experience.

The staff was polite and very serviceable. Fresh and hot breakfast each time. However, my room was very stuffy and old despite the fact that they always have the rooms cleaned. The carpet was very old and dirty, my closet and cabinets were old and rotten and gave off a very bad odor. The towels were discolored and old. Novotel Al Barsha, if only you can change your bed linens, towels, carpets and renovate your rooms, you’ll be more outstanding. Your services will be golden! Even though your breakfast was always fresh, adding and substituting varieties will help rather than same meals each morning. I give you an OK just because of the above reasons. Last 2years my sister and her family stayed in this same hotel and this year it was same with me and entire family including her, but the same poor amenities were provided. We won’t be staying in this hotel next time in Dubai, unless you improve your facilities/amenities. Aside these your other services are good.

This hotel has always been my comfort hotel, a place I love returning to because of the amazing service and wonderful experiences I have consistently received. Unfortunately, this stay was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The fire alarm went off approximately six times throughout the night, making it almost impossible for me to get any sleep. Every time I finally managed to fall asleep, I was abruptly woken up by the extremely loud and frightening alarm sound and flashing lights. It was an incredibly unpleasant and exhausting experience, leaving me with little to no rest throughout the night. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that I have always considered this hotel a place where I can relax, feel comfortable, and enjoy a peaceful stay. This time, however, was the complete opposite of what I have come to expect from a hotel I genuinely love. I sincerely hope the management takes this matter seriously, as a comfortable and safe environment is the very least a guest should expect. I am truly disappointed that a hotel I have always held in such high regard has left me with such a negative experience.

I am writing to share my feedback following my recent stay in Executive Suite. Unfortunately, the overall experience was quite disappointing for a 4-star hotel at relatively high off-season rates in Dubai. Several significant issues affected our stay: - Both TV remote controls were malfunctioning, rendering the televisions completely unusable. - The air conditioning automatically shuts off when leaving the room, which caused a noticeable humidity smell after a prolonged absence. - A serious fire alarm issue triggered multiple times during the night from October 12 to 13 (at 3:00 AM, 5:00 AM, and again afterwards), severely disrupting our sleep. - Construction work started in a neighboring room at 9:00 AM. Considering this was an executive suite, the level of disturbance and comfort was well below expectations. I hope this was merely an exception to your usual standard of service.
