1. Flooring in the room was squeaky
2. I see clear differences from 1st day vs 2nd day of my stay at the hotel -
The bottles were premium glass on day 1 vs plastic on day 2
The towels etc. were round folded and put very ergonomically near the tub etc. on day 1 vs just placed as a whole on the chair on Day 2
Cleanliness on day 1 was perfect vs day2 I literally found someone's long strands of hair (this is definitely a non-negotiable) - These were mopped by the room service when notified though
3. During the check-in, the receptionist was skeptical when I have requested to check the room first before formally signing-in. Maybe that's why the difference between day1 vs day2
4. I was specifically called and asked to clear the total charge for the 2 days of stay on Day2 despite having a block of 10k on POS during check-in itself.
5. Reception will be empty during midnight; I had to call them twice to get a quick-commerce order collected and delivered to my room
6. The reception doesn't have any small medicine etc. for headache etc.
Positives -
Pranali from Tuskers restaurant was very polite, cheerful for a quick chat and even auto-applied a 15% discount which I wasn't aware of. I was charged a higher amount for a lesser order size on Day 2 vs Day 1. So, it depends on the serving staff as well, thereby lacking uniformity.
The security and the room service personnel who delivered the laundry is good

I really enjoyed the hotel. It is a nice place with a good atmosphere and good decor.

She provided excellent service - such a friendly and kind person and she went over and above to make me feel welcome, including arranging a biryani for me one evening. I fully appreciate her efforts - she is a real credit to the hotel and helped make my stay better. The room I was provided was below the standard I expect from Sofitel. The paneling above the bed was falling off and most concerningly, there were multiple areas of mould present in the bathroom (room 708).
Upon entering my room, there was a strong stale odour in the room that was uncomfortable. I saw multiple cockroaches in the room too.

1) My card was being charged or validated 24 hrs before I checked in without letting me know which was not as per SOP 2) I paid extra for breakfast during checking in and asked for late checkout at 2:00 pm. I asked and was confirmed that the key is enabled till 2:00 pm. Next day when I went for breakfast as it was showing I had not paid, then I had to wait for the lady to recheck and confirm which was both frsutrating and humiliating. Also the key did not work at 1:00 pm so had to send a hotel staff who was rightly questioning me 10 times to get it enabled till 2:00 pm.

As an Accor Diamond member, we have stayed at many Accor hotels over the years, but Sofitel Mumbai BKC is genuinely the one place we always want to come back to whenever we are in Mumbai. We have stayed here dozens of times and always come back.
It is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location — elegant, comfortable and consistently well maintained. But what really sets it apart is the people.
From the moment we arrive, we are greeted by smiling faces. Even the gentlemen opening the doors always make us feel so warmly welcomed. Throughout the hotel, the staff are incredibly kind, attentive and helpful, and there is a genuine warmth to the service that is difficult to put into words.
A very special mention must go to Mukhtar and Khushboo, who were absolute superstars during our stay. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and looked after, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Their warmth, kindness and genuine care made such a difference to our stay.
There are plenty of beautiful hotels in Mumbai, but beautiful hotels alone do not make you return again and again. It is the people who do that.
Mukhtar and Khushboo are a huge part of why Sofitel BKC continues to feel so special to us, and they are a real credit to the hotel.
Thank you to the entire team for another wonderful stay. We already know where we will be staying the next time we are in Mumbai.
