Since I began staying at your property starting in May of this year, you have been my absolute top preference for any business trips lasting more than a couple of days in Mumbai. However, the experience during this recent stay dipped below the high standards you have previously set—which naturally makes any detail missed stand out all the more. I would like to outline a few areas that require attention and resolution. 1. This has been an ongoing issue across my previous stays as well. Cable streaming is consistently unreliable, frequently freezing during playback. Whenever reported, the standard response is that it will be fixed shortly, but a permanent fix is needed. 2. The overhead shower in my room was out of order, leaving only the hand shower functional. Furthermore, the diverter button was completely worn out with the spring exposed, requiring heavy pressure to be held down manually just to operate the shower. 3. The room door did not latch or close automatically and required a deliberate push to shut. Unfortunately, this was only realized when I returned from work to find my door unlocked the entire day. While I believe nothing was missing, this represents a significant security and privacy breach. It also took two days to have the mechanism fixed after reporting it. 4. On the grounds of Hygiene, I initially had to request a room change because the sofa was not properly cleaned and had hair on it. While one might assume it could be mine, I had recently undergone tonsuring at Tirupati, making the hair's origin unmistakable. Regrettably, a similar issue occurred after the room change—this time with the bathrobe. While an oversight on a sofa might happen, finding hair on a freshly provided bathrobe raises serious questions about overall hygiene and sanitation. It makes one wonder if linens and towels are genuinely laundered or simply restacked. I do have media documenting these issues for your reference. Having said that, I have made wonderful personal connections with your team, whose exceptional hospitality consistently makes my travels soothing. From the front desk to the restaurant, pool, and steam room, certain individuals truly go above and beyond to extend their service to the maximum, starting with Sahej and Yash from front desk. Yash, Keth, Selva, Divya, Visakha, Aaradhana, Umar, and Piyush from the Merchants. Siddhesh, Prashant, and Imam from Pool & Steam. A big thumbs up to the entire team for their warmth and dedication. Given my frequent stays since May and my genuine preference for your property, I am sharing this detailed feedback in the hope that it is received constructively. I look forward to a formal acknowledgment from management regarding these security and hygiene lapses, alongside an appropriate resolution or loyalty adjustment to help restore my confidence for future business travel with you.

Hotel conveniently located near the BOI airport especially for short stays. But this hotel falls short of the Fairmont standard. My wardrobe had no door, and seemingly missing the top rack. The bathroom had no towel rack or hooks for towels. Towels were folded on the same ack where you'd place your luggage. My room was right next to the service exit, it was extremely noisy. The shower was so oddly designed that the shower water did not drain properly.

Overall, I was quite disappointed with the stay, particularly given that this was my fiancée’s 30th birthday and our first stay at Fairmont Mumbai. Before arrival, I had specifically requested a quiet, higher-floor room with an airport runway view, and this request was acknowledged by the reservations team. However, upon arrival, I learned that the room I had booked as an Airport View did not actually offer the runway view, and that a separate, more expensive Runway View category existed. My main concern is not that the Runway View room cost more. It is that the distinction between Airport View and Runway View was not sufficiently clear to me at the time of booking. The room names and photographs presented online made the two categories appear very similar, and there was no obvious indication that the Airport View did not provide the runway-facing view I had specifically requested. Had this been clear, I would have been able to make an informed decision at the time of booking. The room itself was also quite small for the approximately ₹21,000+ paid for the night and did not have a bathtub. While the bed was comfortable and the coffee/tea facilities were good, these felt like basic expectations at this price point rather than something that made the stay feel special. We did receive a complimentary birthday cake, which I genuinely appreciated. However, despite informing the hotel well in advance that this was my fiancée’s 30th birthday, there was no other room decoration or special arrangement. Additionally, an item/gift associated with a JITO event taking place at the hotel was placed inside our room while we were away. We had not requested this, and I found it uncomfortable that an unrelated third-party item was placed in our private room without our knowledge. The biggest disappointment, however, was the runway-view issue. It was something I had specifically requested because it was intended to be part of the birthday experience, and discovering only after arrival that the room category I had booked did not provide that view was extremely disappointing. I hope Fairmont will review how these room categories are presented online and make the distinction between Airport View and Runway View much clearer to guests before booking.

Everything was good. You are aware we have stayed with Fairmont before as well and we are a Gold member. However, we faced a small bitter experience inside a lift, two men with alcohol in their hand entered the lift and one of them was trying to stand so close to my wife which would have resulted in a fight, however i managed it by standing right infront of my wife. I don't know how you guys are gonna manage this or make you affected customer happy. So its all in your hands to decide.

There are these rare occasions that people go above and beyond. Third time of hopefully many more stays to come at this place. Simply because of the personalities of the entire staff. Book the gold lounge amd Chatty and his team of butlers like Pranav, Abishek, David, Vikas, Genevieve and the others will treat you like royalty.

Overall, a great stay with absolutely sensational food every time. That said, the service felt quite transactional, even at check-in. Despite managers being present in the lobby, there was very little engagement or genuine guest interaction. IRD needs significant improvement shocked that no water was provided with a meal, which is surely one of the most basic 5-star standards. Finding the kitchen docket left on the tray with my food was also disappointing. Management responded swiftly with an apology, which I appreciated, but it does highlight the need for more training. A special shoutout to Ashutosh from Front Office, who arranged an early room and genuinely made an effort to engage. He really demonstrated what 5-star check in and genuine guest interaction should feel like.

However, you are absolutely right that luxury hospitality should never feel transactional. The limited engagement during check-in, particularly with managers present in the lobby, fell short of the warmth and genuine interaction we aim to provide. I am also sorry for the lapses in your In-Room Dining experience. Not providing water with your meal and leaving an internal kitchen docket on the tray reflect missed service and presentation checks. When you say that airport drop is included in the package, why can’t your reception team ensure that the guest is able to board the cab that is waiting just outside the lobby? As a guest, it is quite inconvenient to be asked to prove that I am a hotel guest rather than someone simply walking in and asking for a cab. This should ideally be handled by the reception team without putting the guest through such an unnecessary hassle. Also, the breakfast service was quite delayed. On the second day, my order was completely missed, which added further inconvenience.

As the airport drop was included in your package, the necessary verification and coordination should have been completed internally, allowing you to board the waiting vehicle without being asked to establish that you were a resident guest. This was neither seamless nor hospitable. I also apologise that your tea order was missed on both mornings, particularly when you were preparing to leave for the airport. I am grateful to Chef Selvam for recognising the situation and arranging a freshly prepared takeaway tea. Your appreciation will certainly be shared with him.
