We are part of the Accor Vacation Club and have visited Novotel Nusa Dua twice. Great facilities and location with everything you need for families to relax and unwind. Pool area great, volleyball and basketball good to keep the kids occupied. Only downside is inability to accommodate late check outs and restaurant basic but fine for lunches by the pool. Recommend for groups with lots of family rooms. Stretching in the morning is fabulous after a beach walk..

Being an All Accor Plus member we originally booked this resort for a family holiday availing of our membership discount. We later came across a scoopon deal which was incredible value with all the additional add ons of massages, daily cocktails, buffet dinner, set lunch, airport transfer and at less than half the price of just the accomodation cost as an Accor member. We cancelled our original booking and booked through Scoopon. It was disappointing that these deals or prices are not offered to Members. Despite that, our stay was lovely. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was well appointed, clean and very spacious. The staff were all wonderful and accommodating. The grounds were lovely and the pool a highlight. They had a life guard on duty too which was good. The restaurant had a good variety of meals on the menu and also buffet dinners which were all at very reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet was good with a range of western and asian offerings. The resort was in a perfect location. Private and quiet with the beach club just a short shuttle ride away and the main street for shopping and other dining was just a short stroll away. The Spa massages and treatments were amazing and very reasonably priced for a resort of this calibre. We also did the cooking class and this was probably our only disappointment. We have done many cooking classes during our holidays and this was the least interactive and enjoyable and the recipes uninspiring. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at this resort and would highly recommend it to families and couples.

We stayed here in a 3 bedroom apartment with a pool. The apartment was nice and a very good size. Parts of it need a little maintenance but generally in good condition. Breakfast was busy each day. Dependant on what time you arrive, there is a good chance of standing in line and waiting to be seated. There was a good selection of food. The pool was nice but there is an insufficient number of loungers for the size of the hotel. The only real bar area is on the poolside. They finish very early so do not expect to sit in the hotel for a drink after dining out. The spa was good and whilst I did not have a massage here, other members of the group did and enjoyed it. My biggest negative…. We were forced to stay in the hotel until 5pm before travelling to Ubud as 2 members of the group were ill. Despite the size of the hotel and knowing that a lot of arrivals were not going to arrive until later, the hotel said they couldn’t offer us a room past the normal checkout of 12. Most of our party left for Ubud but myself and 2 children had to stay on a sofa in the bar (close to a bathroom) for many hours. I have a membership with Accor and would happily have paid despite it normally being free. The answer of “we are full” without even taking a moment to check was really disappointing. I am certain we could have been accommodated for a few more hours. In summary, this is a nice hotel but with very little character. Once inside, you could be pretty much anywhere. Good value but I would not stay in this hotel or Nusa Dua again.

Affordable for a reason

Novotel Nusa Dua is cheaper than the other Nusa Dua Resorts so worth staying if you want to be in the area. It's good for families with younger kids, with the pools, pool games, ping pong, giant chess and kids club. The rooms are spacious but need updating. The showers are not great. The kitchenette isn't made for actual functional use and there were not enough plates, cutlery etc. It was very busy being school holidays so hard to find a pool chair / lounge available unless you reserve early. Recommend you son't stay here if you have older kids, or you are a couple without kids. The gym is small and was always busy. But good equipment and friendly staff and filtered water - we enjoyed it! The buffet breakfast wasn't great... Not a lot of selection or flavour. We ended up wandering out to find great coffee and brekky out on the street. The service we're used to by the pool and around the hotel in a Nusa Dua Resort just wasn't here at this hotel. It's hard to find someone around the pool to get food or drinks. Though when our son got sick they were very good about it in the front lobby area and checked in on him the next day which was nice. The highlight was Pause Cafe which does great coffee, fresh pastries and have brilliant service. The beach club, while a 10-15 min walk away, or a quick transfer, isn't ideal. Again they don't serve you at the beach lounges - you need to go up to the beach bar / cafe. You're better walking the beachfront and finding somewhere else to eat / drink. The beach is nice though and people were swimming etc. The fire dance buffet at the beach club was pretty good and the live music at this event was great! Overall an average stay if compared to other Nusa Dua Resorts BUT it's more affordable so good savings on booking dollars. We wouldn't stay here again, but families with young kids will enjoy it.
