Mercure Libourne Saint Emilion Hotel 4 stars

The room was neat and clean and had all we needed for our stay. The reception service was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lot of choice. The hotel is well located to the centre of town and the river.

Swift check in. Room clean and modern. Location next to the river and in short walking distance to charming centre. Excellent breakfast

Good. Could be a bit cooler

This Mercure is a lovely hotel with a great staff. The first night we were welcomed in the bar by Samuel. He speaks good English and is a wealth of knowledge on where to eat , the best local wines, great local cheeses to try, and suggested a visit to the local distillery know for invented Triple Sec. At breakfast we were met with a smile and a personal welcome by Raphael the hotel manager. The room was about the same size as most Ibis and Mercure rooms. We paid an up charge for a view of the Loire River and the chateau (castle) above it. Felt the view was worth it. This hotel has a great location on the island so it is only about 1/2 mile to the train station and just across the bridge from old town and city center. And don’t miss the wonder restaurant two blocks away with it’s wonderful French Cuisine! (Reine de Sicily). The only negative for this location is the woman in charge of the breakfast room. We were here for four days and never once saw her smile at anyone! On day three, I went back to the breakfast bar for a coffee refill 10:03 am and she quickly came over to admonish me in French that the breakfast area was closed! She starts clearing tables from breakfast and setting them up for the next day about an hour early and then places little “reserved” signs on them so no one will sit there. I later found out that she is Raphael’s MOTHER! My wife and I have stayed at over a dozen Accor hotels in the last two years. We have never received such rude treatment at any of the other locations. Raphael, it is time for your mother to retire!

We booked the hotel last minute for our trip to the south of France. We were not disappointed!! It didn’t everything it said it would and more. Clean, modern and efficient services along with friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel for a stay.

Hotel enjoys perfect position on the splendid new esplanade. Staff are friendly, rooms are well-planned , generously scaled and very comfortable with excellent beds!

The staff was helpful and very nice. Our room was, as always, comfortable and well appointed.

1792 was the end of privileges in France and the tradition is still alive in Libourne.This is my third visit in Libourne and despite being platinum,I have never seen a privilege room.A nice coffee machine would have been welcome(I got one in Honfleur the following day).Maybe they don't exist.Will I be back,probably because what makes the hotel is the staff.Every time we have met people who were so friendly and helpful.We had a puncture on our car and the young lady at reception could not have done more for us.I think her name was Morgane.She was superb. Breakfast was good,the scrambled eggs were very tasty.A slight criticism,the bacon could have been better.But then France and bacon don't often see eye to eye.

Great hotel, generous facilities , very friendly staff. Excellent location and parking. Very good value.

Hi, I'm a lover of Novotel and Mercure hotels, I use them frequently. From Mercure I like the breakfast approach when I travel with my family. I should say that this time the breakfast was not at the usual level, they were no vegetables of any kind (tomate, ...) for vegetarians it was not ideal.

We arrived late at night and would stay only overnight. Our check in was very smooth, the receptionist was very kind and helpful. There was no parking space available on the street so he guided us for a temporary parking until next morning. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very rich in kind of food and the eating place particularly the garden area was very comfortable. I would strongly recommend the Hotel for those visiting nearby places. The price and the service was also very cost effective.
