We stayed for one night on our way home from Spain to Scotland. The suite was an amazing size, the staff were so friendly and the location in the river was perfect.

Good location for Libourne town and surrounding area

I had a very pleasant stay and felt secure that all was being done to mitigate against the spread of Covid-19. The fire alarm went off at 03:30 and again at 04:00 on the first night of my stay but otherwise it was very peaceful.

Well located

Frédérick Couples - 04/08/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

If it is well located, there is not much to be said of the hotel. The welcome staff forgot to mention that cleaning was only done if requested (Covid-19 excuse). The breakfast is rather limited in variety and quantity. Did not get a chance to test the bar, though as a All-Diamond member we had a free drink, since it did not seem to be open ... Last but not least: no specifics and welcome for All-Diamond member !

Well located but in essence an Ibis remaned Mercure

Lh P. Families - 23/07/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

Good location, but the rooms are small and lack any features of a 4* hotel. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, neither minibar, rooms are small with typical Ibis layout, furniture and amenities hence the title of the review.

Xemxijas1 Family - 03/01/2019 TripAdvisor review

Beautiful room, beautiful view. Better to stay in summer as apart from view not a lot to do. Downside apart from lady who checked us in felt the rest of staff unfriendly and unwelcoming. Not the best Mercure for that reason.

Clean and modern

Daddydoop Couples - 12/10/2018 TripAdvisor review

A great location for anyone looking to visit a wine Château. A modern and clean hotel albeit without a restaurant. The room was a bit tight on space but the balcony made up for that. Breakfast selection was okay. Parking spaces are limited so it might be wise to pre-book it if you can.

great hotel , best ever

excellent in all respects. Location good, ambience first rate, room and bed very comfortable, overlooks river and boulevard , quiet but with activities and restaurants close by, staff exceptional , very helpful and friendly , excellent value for money , well situated for Bordeaux and very close to St. Emilion. WEW will go back certainly.

Hotel had been refurbished and was therefore very clean and tidy. Hotel rooms rather small, however bathroom and separate toilet spacious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient for vist to Saint Emilion.

The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the sights, bars & restaurants of Libourne. The room was very comfortable if a little small but as we only use it for sleeping it really is of little relevance. The staff and parking facilities were excellent

Nice time in Libourne

Only an overnight stay en-route from Southern Spain to London but a pleasant an comfortable stay. Right next to the river and a short walk to the main square and restaurants. Didn't try the breakfast as back on the road early.

Fine accommodation, awful breakfast

TripAdvisor rating 2.0/5

JasonPaxford Business - 27/06/2016 TripAdvisor review

We recently stayed at this accommodation, and can honestly say this was the worst breakfast we have had whilst staying at Accor Hotels. My colleague normally has scrambled eggs for breakfast, but the eggs were so runny he almost threw up!. There was limited cereals, drinks etc. We paid E15.50 each for breakfast, and when i complained to the Receptionist, there was an apology but no discount. This was without doubt our worst breakfast experience we have had whilst staying at Accor Hotels, which is why i thought it best to bring this to your attention. Hopefully you will review my comments, and reply.

Dear Mr Paxford Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Hôtel Mercure Libourne Saint Emilion. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Our breakfast is habiltuellement very appreciated by our customers? We never encountered any problem on our scrambled eggs? and contrary to what you write all our products on our buffet are not limited? Sincerely, F.NOGUERA

A quiet oasis near St Emilion

Stonks Business - 24/06/2016 TripAdvisor review

Overlooking the confluence of the Isle and Garonne rivers, this comfortable hotel is a stone's throw from the bustle of St Emilion, and makes a good base for visiting the vineyards of Pomerol, St Emilion and Entre Deux Mers. Ask for a high floor room overlooking the quais, the old harbour whence wines were shipped to the UK, before the rise of Bordeaux as a transhipment port. There is a good local restaurant, Zinc.

Touris in Libourne

Restaurant at Logis de France "La Tour" one block away. Very Very good. Strongly reccomend the wine "Chateau TouMalin" 2011 a huge Bordeaux from Passac, 15% a great and inexpensive wine. Libourne a relatively small city with not much to do but close to wine country Reception and service, Excellent Very helpful staff No restaurant at Hotel, bar closes early.

gsdsafety Couples - 01/04/2016 TripAdvisor review

Good accommodation but very disappointing that there was only a poor quality bar menu and no restaurant. The view from the room was picturesque but was partly obscured by adjacent buildings. The town was shut as our stay was Easter Monday but I would think that on a normal day Libourne is a really good place to visit.

At the heart of things

Stonks Business - 19/08/2015 TripAdvisor review

Convenient for business in town, and also only 10 minutes from St Emilion, this is a great choice if you prefer not to be based in St Emilion itself with its 1+ million visitors a year. The Sunday market in Libourne is worth the price of a visit in itself and the family run restaurant 100 metres down the road, La Tour du Port is worth a visit.

Pleasant Hotel

carl0s47 Couples - 30/09/2014 TripAdvisor review

Room a bit small, and did not have a frig/mini-bar, but otherwise quite good amenities. Ask for a room on a higher floor overlooking the river. Location good, although a 15 min walk if coming from the train station. We went to the market square for breakfast, only a 5 min walk. Staff helpful. Very good value for money.

Hotel at the confluence of two rivers and well-placed for easy access to the beautiful town. Good sized room kept in excellent condition and polite and pleasant staff to assist. Price paid was reasonable. Excellent for exploring wine growing areas and the Gironde estuary.

Trip to St Emilion

Dieter J Friends getaway - 04/06/2014 TripAdvisor review

This hotel is a good location for a trip to the wine region of St Emilion. Rooms are of a good size and the hotel has a city centre location. Staff are helpful but there is no restaurant. The bar offers a variety of snacks and a good selection of local wine. Private parking is a must so ensure you advise the hotel before you arrive.
