Terrible hôtel in desperate need of refurbishment
Anonymous Families - 30/10/2019 Confirmed reviews ALL
The hotel room was very shabby. The light in the bedroom did not work. The ceiling had a huge crack in it and the carpet was extremely dirty. The staff member who was there in the morning for breakfast was incredibly rude and couldn't even be bothered to say hello. I speak French fluently so it was definitely not a language issue.

Clean... except for shower curtain, great staff and breakfast

Receptionists very efficient and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Safe cycle storage. Breakfast very good and good value. Only downside was a shower curtain pink with old soap residue that obviously hadn’t been cleaned for too long.
Budget hotel with everything you need for a no-frills stay - comfy bed, good showers, basic breakfast, very helpful staff

First, it's important to realise that this *is* a budget Ibis, so don't expect luxury items. Nevertheless, coming to a "rowing camp", it was just what we needed and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating, including (at an additional cost) picnic lunch for us all. The showers are reliably good and hot; the beds are a double with a single bunk above - I didn't try the bunk but the double mattress was comfy and firm but not too hard. One pillow per person. Not a lot of sockets in the room (one by the hand-basin and one at the desk-let under the TV) but sufficient. One medium (and fairly thin) towel per person, small hand soap by the sink and the usual Ibis wall-mounted shower gel/hair wash in the shower enclosure. The rooms are not large, therefore for three adults sharing, expect to feel a little bit cramped with luggage and managing where you keep stuff (the bed is a solid platform, so no room underneath; small hanging space only in one corner with only 4 coathangers), but we managed with organised piles of stuff in opened suitcases and bags to avoid things becoming chaotic. It tended to be slightly warm in the room so we slept with the window open - not sure what it would be like in really hot weather. There is an air-conditioning unit but it seemed to 'do' only heating, not cooling (but we were there in April, so it's possible the unit was on a winter-only setting). The rooms don't have hairdryers (not listed on the facilities anyway, so we anticipated and brought our own - reminder, this *is* a budget hotel!). There's a standard socket by the basin/sink (no shaver socket so bring your own adapter if you need to). There are no full-length mirrors in the rooms, but there's a big one over the hand basin sufficient for most needs. Breakfast is self-service and simple but very adequate. There's a juice machine, a jug of water, a kettle and some tea/other sachets and oodles of filter coffee and hot milk in jugs on hot plates (with staff on-hand to refill). Breads (some sliced and a toaster), slices of cake, fresh plain croissants, sachets of jams, nutella, honey and butter etc. Also yoghurts and single-portions of cheese (no meats). And cornflakes (plain or chocolate). We were there over Easter weekend, so many supermarkets and shops had limited opening hours, but the croissants and bread rolls/baguette slices were always fresh. The Internet provision seems to be solidly reliable; I didn't check the speed; I could see lots of WiFi access points in the corridors. Room access is electronic and key-less - you get a code for your own room door (which, once you've cemented it in memory, is much easier than sharing keys or key-cards). At some point, there will need to be a bit of a refurb - the carpets are getting quite worn - but basically, everything is functional, safe and comfortable; what you get, matches the per-night price. I would happily stay there again - and as mentioned up-front, the staff were really helpful and responsive.
Good overnight stay
