Overall the hotel was welcoming. We are Accor Gold members & have experienced great hospitality from check in to check out. The room was spacious and clean if not a little tired.
The bar is lovely and very welcoming.
Breakfast was decent but super busy!
At breakfast on the last day, we were informed that as we were Gold members, we could order our eggs (poached etc) but this was only told yo us when we arrived at breakfast and not shared at check in.
The swimming pool is lovely and even though it was busy, it didn't feel overcrowded
However - it is not manned. A child vomited in the pool and I reported this to reception who informed me they'd close it to clean, but this did not happen (as my husband was in the sauna and jacuzzi at the time
Overall, a lovely hotel. Walking distance to attractions in Cardiff town centre but it would have been nice to have had the Gold status acknowledged and especially for the breakfast
Also that the seriousness of the swimming pool needing to be cleaned.

Having been extremely satisfied with a previous visit to the Novotel Cardiff Centre it was the hotel of choice for our next visit, even though it was only an overnight stop on the way home. I am pleased to say nothing had changed to lower my expectations. The staff were welcoming and showed an interest in our reason for staying. Check in and check out were very easy. Our room was spacious and at a comfortable temperature. We visited the restaurant in the evening as it avoided trying to find a suitable place to eat in Cardiff on a |Saturday evening. The calamari starter was the best I have ever had. The rest of our food order was equally good. Breakfast was in the same restaurant. There was plenty of choice, both hot and cold offerings. The bacon was meaty and delicious.
The hotel is about 15 mins walk from Central Station and the main shopping areas of Cardiff so it offers a peaceful location with easy access to the center of the city

Shower leaked, flooded the bathroom floor. Wet socks. Got told we could move, room was boiling. Staff turned air boiling system on still boiling so stayed in room as late anyway and would have had to move everything. Woke up in the morning shower was freezing. Was doing Cardiff 10k, boys couldn't sleep due to small sofa bed on family room.
Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice, lead server in breakfast was lovely.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay, particularly the shower leaking and flooding the bathroom, the room temperature being uncomfortable, and the shower being cold in the morning. I completely appreciate how frustrating this must have been, especially when you were staying with your family for the Cardiff 10K and needed a good night’s sleep before the event.
I’m also sorry that the sofa bed was not comfortable enough for the boys and that this affected their sleep. If you are travelling as a family and feel that the sofa bed may not provide enough space for everyone, we have a family rate available with up to 50% off for a second room, subject to availability. This can provide some additional space and comfort for your family during your stay.
On a positive note, I’m pleased to hear that you found our staff friendly and enjoyed the breakfast, and especially that our breakfast team member made such a good impression.

I stayed for one night with my family and we enjoyed the pool and thought the breakfast was good. The room was quite basic and we would have appreciated a small fridge for milk. Unfortunately there was an incident in the night where a family staying next us had a very loud argument which woke us up. I would have called reception to send up security but there was no phone in the room. When I spoke to reception on the morning they said there was a QR code to call reception but I did not notice this. Perhaps it would be better to send this on text or email rather than have it on paper on the room. Other than that all good!

This information should be explained to guests during check-in, so they are aware of how to contact reception should they require any assistance during their stay.

Had a great time and enjoyed facilities. Barbara on reception was lovely and very helpful.
Only negatives were the breakfast seemed very expensive (£18pp) and in my bath robe we found a lighter in the pocket and a stain so I doubt it had been washed inbetween guests which is quite disgusting

Except for breakfast, which was OK, the stay in the room was a great disappointment. No air-conditioning, room too hot all the time, bad air quality, windows could be opened only to a small extent, the floor had a terrible carpet, water quality really bad and the bathroom equipment of low tech - about to break down any moment.

An enjoyable three night stay as a base for exploring South Wales. Well located, just a ten minute walk from Central station. The room decor was a bit tired and could probably do with a refurb at some point, but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with all items being replenished on a regular basis. All staff I encountered were very professional and attentive.

My day was really good. Very friendly staff. A nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Close from everything. Very nice breakfast. The only issue I had was with Service as they cancelled an order I made because they didn’t have one item without coming back to me and getting in touch with them is difficult.

have stayed a few times now and never disappoints. The staff are always friendly, the rooms always clean and tidy. Really enjoyed the swimming pool. The food in the bar is excellent and the breakfast well stocked.

We stayed one night as a last treat before my son went back to school. The staff were warm and welcoming from check in to check out.
