We stay at your Hotel every time we visit our Grandson at University in Cardiff! You are very well placed for driving into the city, with plenty of parking on site. Unfortunately I woke up having been bitten by bed bugs. I managed to get a photo, went to reception and the night manager moved me to a room across the corridor. He also saw the bug, which i believe must indicate quite a severe infestation, as they are difficult to detect. Whilst the beds was really lovely and comfortable, i didn't sleep well, and got rather ill from the bites which are quite painful aside from being itchy. Whilst all the members of staff was responsive, and immediately offered me a refund, i had to follow up on this the next night from my next stop on the business trip, as nothing was put in writing. I have also not been offered anything else in terms of information, medical support, assurances that they would not allocate the room and details of what pest control action they intend to take. Whilst I understand that I do not need to have fine details, it would have been assuring if they were more transparent, as from my experience, whilst i would have thought the rooms were comfortable, i would not be able to recommend the hotel, nor be inclined to stay there again. I feel if i was given detailed assurances and perhaps in addition to the refund a voucher, i would have been inclined to stay there again and recommend the hotel, despite the awful experience of bed bugs.

The carpet was very stained which made me scared to walk bare footed in the room. There was also a dirty brown mark on the table that I hoped looked like a food smear. As I was only spending one night here for work so I checked the bed, it was clean, I slept and left as soon as I could. Needs a good steam clean. Just set everything else off badly.

Generally I used to enjoy staying at this hotel, but not even a bottle of water in the room. No guest menu or information, had to walk to reception to ask for anything. Poor guest service from the morning manager, when I complained about the bathroom light he didn’t believe me, when he went to investigate, there was no genuine apology. The hotel is not the same standard as before. I will probably not return.

We only stayed for one night which was ideal for visiting family and very close by . The cooked breakfast was let down by eggs that were clearly left standing for too long , and coffee machine not functioning either .

I had a comfortable stay here. However, a few things - the body wash was empty when I checked-in, it was not refilled and only refilled after a few days. The liquid soap was full - once, our cup was left as is and not cleaned - coffee fills/tea bags were not refilled Room was clean I asked for 2 single beds but it was not fulfilled. It seems only large beds were available? Shower - would have also preferred a hand-held shower head with hose instead of a rain shower

Greeted by welcoming receptionist Room was reasonable - newly decorated and modern, everything was clean Was really disappointed by the gym, the equipment was poor and half of the equipment wasn’t usable. A drastic change to when I stayed in June! Treadmill belt had been slashed, bench was pretty poor and didn’t move to the full range. Gym was also dirty and needed a good deep clean. Wouldn’t stay again unless they do something to the gym as that’s what I want out of a hotel stay.

Staff were very helpful and the location was good for our requirements. However, the hotel needs an update, lick of paint and deep clean. Stained carpet and peeling paint in the privilege room. Breakfast poor and crockery not very clean. Comfortable bed. Do not feel it is worthy of the 4* status.

Hotel check in was good with friendly staff and easy parking. Hotel room itself was okay, obviously had been renovated but can tell it was on a budget - old paint showing through - tiles half painted. Bed was very comfortable and upgrade to premium room provided a fridge with free beverages. Coffee machine also included although it leaked as soon as you put water in. Bathroom towels were assuming clean but were stained and not very good quality. Recommendation would be to renew your towels. Hotel room clean overall. Breakfast was very good with attentive staff.
