Disappointed that I had to pay car parking

Dear Brian S., We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the ibis Bridgwater. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. Please know the reason for the parking charge is that we do not own the land where the hotel car park is. The landlord has decided to charge for parking due to increasing costs, we are heavily subsidizing this cost for our hotel guests, however there is still a minimal overnight charge that they must incur. We decided against including this in the rate as some guests do not park with us, and that would be unfair on them. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one.

Can't fault the bedroom or the staff but the breakfast was a bit sparse (Rice Krispies or All Bran were the only cereal choices) and charging £9 for parking is ridiculous. That was either not shown when I booked, or it was very well hidden!

Cold and expensive

Both the public area, restaurant and rooms were cold, the heating has clearly been turned down. When we were seated for dinner we confirmed that we had been booked in by EDF for dinner bed and breakfast. We were given menus and asked what we wanted, even though it was only a couple of burgers it took a very long time to arrive. Only when we were leaving were we advised that we were entitled to three courses with half a bottle of wine - instead the waitress let us go to the bar and buy drinks (£12 for a glass of wine is over the top). The room was very cold and this is probably not helped by the concrete walls - which at first I thought were still to be painted.

Décor was poor and the room was very cold - heating didn't work . food was good
