Good points: very close to O2 Academy if that’s where you’re going. Room functional. Very cheap. Reception staff helpful. But: filthy corridors, sick smell in various areas, dubious stained carpets by lifts, door entry card did not work so had to get reception to fix it (a neighbouring guest had the same issue as well), there is no separate bathroom - the toilet is in a tiny ‘room’ of its own we didn’t trust closing the door fully for fear of being trapped inside, the shower is like an aeroplane toilet cubicle, the tiny sink is by the bed. The single bed is like a bunk bed you access via wobbly ladders over the top of the double bed and the bunk bed frame not secure. The room looked clean but because the rest of the hotel is not clean we didn’t trust the cleanliness of the bed sheets, carpet etc. Posters in the lifts warning for watching out for child trafficking (worrying, is this the clientele who use the hotel as well?). No thanks. Did we complain at the time? No as it was a one night stay based on its location.

We had two nights on a work related trip. Key problem was the wifi because our work laptops would not let us connect to an open network. A secure network would have been ideal for us. Otherwise it did the job. All the staff were wonderful, could not have been more helpful. Thank you

Expected more from room. No kettle. No shampoo, no conditioner.

The car park was consistently full which meant over paying at the NCP down the road. Upon heading to the room on the 2nd floor there was a strong smell of weed at all times. There was loud music playing through the night and people shouting up and down the hall

The hotel is well located about 8-10 minutes walk from New St Station although the walk is alongside a very busy dual carriageway. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the showers good. The hotel staff were excellent - very welcoming and helpful and quick to respond to any issues. For a budget hotel so close to the centre of Birmingham, we felt it represented good value for money.
