We booked this hotel with my sister in November, we got room 227. The room had dry vomit on the carpet, the beds when so uncomfortable, radiators very old took forever to warm the room. The carpets in the hall way was very dirty. The location was great and the breakfast. Very disappointed.

Great location and great customer services specially from Irene ( I think that’s her name) that works on the breakfast “. The room itself it’s not the best, small and it looks really old. The heater 2 radiator, it’s very old and smells when turns on. A tip, please change the carpet to attract more customers.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Ibis Hotel in Birmingham. I stayed here when I attended NEC for Motorcycle live in November 2025. Staff customer service skills were fantastic. My room was spacious & very clean. I noticed the skirting board below the door to the ensuite needed repainting. There is two lifts. Contactless payments only which is something I don't agree with. The main doors close at 23.00 pm, which is something else I don't agree with. If the closed at 00.00 am I could accept that

I strayed for one night, it was booked by work so I can’t comment on value for money. Overall, it fell short of my expectations for an Ibis, which are usually lovely. The location is great, very close to New St station. The shower was very powerful. The room was very dated and basic - I expect its’s in line for an upgrade. It wasn’t that clean - there were crumbs under the desk, and the teabag packaging was damaged/old. Breakfast was tasty, but the service was varied: the greeter and an older woman were very friendly, while another younger woman was surly. There’s noise from other rooms - I was on the third floor and could hear the room above me. Luckily I had my earplugs. The bed was weird - looked like a mattress topper had been put on top of an old tatty mattress. The decor throughout the hotel made me wonder if it was aimed at a youth market, as it had the air of a youth hostel. Unless it was upgraded, I probably wouldn’t choose to stay again.
