We booked to stay as we were going to the pantomime at the Hippodrome which is just across the road. The bed was a bit too firm for me and the pillows were hard. Nice big room. I felt sure breakfast was buffet style when we have stayed before, but it was served to us on this occasion.

Stayed overnight for 1 night. Hotel very welcoming and clean. Reception modern and bright. Staff very friendly and welcoming (also helpful). Bar nice and very clean. Literally in the centre of the city, great amenities nearby. Room smallish bit clean and well kept. Bathroom slightly dated but I can’t complain as it was good value for money. Would stay again if in Birmingham.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and found the location particularly convenient for local trains, buses and facilities in the city. The room (120) was clean and comfortable but I did find the shower too small - I did wonder if the hinge had been put on the wrong side of the door as I have never found Ibis showers difficult to use before.

On arrival we managed to park in the secure hotel car park without any problem. The friendly staff have us a warm welcome on arrival and checked us in efficiently, giving us all the information we needed for our stay. The hotel was clean and well presented. The bar/restaurant area had a modern feel with pool table, table football etc. We were quite surprised for a budget hotel. The location in the Chinese quarter was superb with a range of good quality Chinese restaurants near by. New Street station was a short walk away, and, just through the station and we were in the thriving Bullring and New Street shopping areas of Central Birmingham. We will definitely consider staying at this hotel again. We couldn't think of anything negative to comment on.

Great first time at an Ibis

Arrived early to drop our cases off but was told our room was ready to check into which was a great first impression! Front desk staff were friendly and the Reception/bar area had a funky look to it. Room was small but adequate for a one night stay. Location was very convenient, not far from the train station and the Bullring centre, right in the heart of China town and adjacent to the Arcadian Centre. The only negative was that the buffet breakfast was a little dried up and we weren't late in getting up.

The approach to the carpark is somewhat uninviting but eventually we managed to get the gate open. There was no shower gel etc in the bathroom, just hand wash (which is the same product in the shower) so I had to do an interesting new technique to shower by stepping out into the loo to reach for the product. I handed my vehicle details to the receptionist when I checked in, but I was not informed there would be a charge for parking on top of the hotel fee.

I had a great stay here. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was extremely clean. I enjoy the closeness to the train station and the Bullring market/Mall. There’s plenty of restaurants around.
