I’ve stayed in Ibis before and know they are basic, but was pretty horrified at this one. I booked B&B and was told I had room only on arrival, and advised I would need to pay for breakfast. Then when I showed my email they said it was an error in their system due to how I had booked. I’d booked direct so that was poor. Then there was the room itself - it was basic, but it was also grubby. Grubby mattress, dirty floor under the bed, old and tatty bathroom. The bathroom was clean at least, and the sheets clean, but the mattress stained. My booking referred to a new soft and snuggly bed and bedding…there was nothing new about the bed, looked at least 20 years old. Breakfast was only ok also, the bacon and sausages were good, everything else poor, with no decent bread, awful coffee, anaemic looking scrambled egg. The location is decent for the train station and staff were friendly, but the place needs some money spent on it. I felt it was a complete rip off.
