Mercure Birmingham West is a solid, reputable hotel, but what really makes the stay stand out is the genuinely warm and helpful service. The front-desk staff - with specific emphasis on Mairita - go above and beyond, answering questions with efficiency, and giving the whole place a welcoming feel.

The room was adequate but not sure if the extra cost of the privilege room is good value..The fridge seemed to struggle to keep cool, the lighting in the room was poor..the bath could do with a hand rail as there is quite a drop when coming out of it… It would be nice to have all day breakfast on menu..and water bottles available..the staff were helpful and pleasant..I would stay again but may be not in privilege room.

Vehicles are regularly broken into in the car park. I often see broken glass on the ground, and my colleagues have recently had their cars broken into as well. It doesn’t feel safe to leave your vehicle here, and Mercure doesn’t seem to take the issue seriously. The food menu has plenty of options, but the quality is poor. I won’t be eating here again during future stays. Breakfast items frequently run out, and replacements are slow to appear. Overall, I would only stay here as a last resort, which is a shame given that it’s only 10 minutes from our factory.
