Nice hotel, welcoming atmosphere and good selection on the menu. Breakfast very good. Room a good size, felt elements needed updating / refurbishing such as carpets and showers but all seemed clean.

We had a lovely welcome , I had my dog with me. We were assigned a room on tge second, which is actually on the same floor as reception. When we got in the good sized room., there was a good size dog bed, a bowl,treats, a ball and a message about rules. The bed was two singles put together. There was a good quality hospitality tray, sadly no biscuits. The room was well equipped with sockets, but the lighting was poor. The bathroom was accesable, so was large. With large soft towels and good integrated toiletries. As my dog is a service dog, we were allowed in the restaurant, we had a good meal, vegetarian soup(could've been hotter), Cumberland sausage & mash and a fresh fruit salad. Breakfast, I was refused entry to the restaurant, even though I explained about her being a service dog, being disabled, I had to sit in the bar, being disabled this presented me with great difficulties. However a member of staff checked with reception and I was allowed on. . Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice of everything although no black pudding or fried bread. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. All the staff were friendly .
