The front desk staff were very helpful and empathetic when I asked to change rooms to one closer to reception for safety reasons. I am a lone single traveler and the first room was ground floor and the walk to it was isolated. The second room was comfortable and well appointed. The temperature control was showing an error, but the window opened so the room was cool (my preference). The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and there were good products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). Room security could be improved. The room was equipped with an old style door chain. It's a large busy hotel and I felt pretty wary walking through the corridors. Good for families with the pool etc.

The worst hotel I’ve stayed in so far in the UK. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The first room I was given smelled terrible, so I had to return to reception and complain. They moved me to another room, but that one also had a strong, unpleasant odor, like stale sweat. I was in a rush to get to an event, so I tried masking it with perfume. Unfortunately, when I came back later, the smell was still there. The room itself was also unclean, with stains on the curtains and hair in various places. Overall, it was an awful experience and left me feeling uncomfortable and unclean, even after showering.

Good price for our room. Hotel is conveniently placed on the western edge of Birmingham and near the M5 motorway.
